Is there going to be a spin off? I haven’t played the games before now, but I understand the lore is a complex Greek tragedy, and there’s tie-ins. Studio A1 did a good job as usual, adapting it in such a short time, they didn’t skimp on production values. Love 2B, 9S, 2A, the pods, Pascal, the Commander, wish there was more time and better circumstances

This takes part in a universe of some games + other content (novels, theatre plays, etc.). As far as I know it is Drakengard 1-3, NieR Replicant and NieR Automata. NieR ReIncarnation is a mobile game (not active) that has some content but idk its place. There is some crossovers too, like the FF XIV one. If you want to play the games, Drakengard series is difficult to play, for its gameplay and consoles. I hope there is a remake of at least Drakengard 3. NieR Replicant ver 1..... (The remake) is pretty good, tho not as good gameplay wise, the story is great and you would understand some things about Automata. Ofc, NieR Automata game is awesome. As for spin offs or sequels, we can only hope that Yoko Taro and Square Enix manage to keep making more content. There is no confirmation of it tho As

The Drakengard and Nier games all take place in the same universe, though both of the main Nier games (Automata, Replicant) can be played by themselves and be entirely understood. All media for Nier is canon, from stage plays to the anime, that includes crossovers with other games, though a lot of that detail isn’t needed to understand the main plot. Replicant and Automata both have 5 main endings labelled A-E which are actually important, the rest are jokes or possibilities.

Lemme just take this moment to say a couple things: 1. I loved A2’s interactions with Pod 042 in the game. 2. The last episode of the anime I saw was season one episode eight. 3. I LOVE the moment where 2B honors her girlfriend’s, I mean 6O’s request and pins the lunar tear flower on her dress. 6O’s reaction couldn’t have been better.

Cyberpunk jokes aside, I wouldn’t be surprised if in the future of Cyberpunk 2077, someone started making braindance remakes of popular video games like the Nier series. In it, instead of playing as 2B, 9S or A2, you ARE 2B, 9S and A2.
