Here to tell you you 110% should. Even if you want to start with Automata you can. NieR: Replicant and NieR: Automata are two of the best story driven video games I’ve played in my life. NieR: Replicant is a lot darker than Automata once you complete route A but that doesn’t take away from the amazing story and music.
@trevorveillette84152 жыл бұрын
@@onyxserenitatem7636 I think automata is much darker. Existentialism is almost not present in replicant. Meanwhile it's center stage in automata. I'd elaborate on why, but this fellow above us hasn't played it yet. But the argument would stem from 2B and 9S tragic relationship and various events and moments In the game surrounding machines and type E units. A good example just by name drop without spoiling anything is simply this. Pascal.

I feel you, I used to listen to NieR's OST without having played any of them. One day I saw Automata on a discount so I though to myself "why not, the music is at least fire". Now it's one (ifnot THE one) of my favourites games of all time. Just one advise if you start with automata too, don't stop playing until you hit Ending E.

Nier music holds a special place in my heart. I’ve always loved the series, the lore, and especially the music. As a very musically oriented person (I used to perform and would go into the music industry if it wasn’t so volatile) I feel like it speaks to the listener. That mix of wonder and melancholic sound speaks volumes of memories across several playthroughs of every game within the series. And yet, now, I can’t listen to them without crying. All because I miss the true awe inspiring feeling of when I first played. The incredibly crafted environment, to the gameplay, to every little bit of world-building. The music reminds me of all of those moments throughout the game and I long to re-experience that first playthrough all over again. It makes me cry, but not of sadness, but of longing of that experience again. Savor the moments you have with whatever you may be doing. You experience that high of life once, then it will never be the same. Enjoy it to the fullest.

I greatly appreciate the inclusion of Kuroi Uta. There are a number of Nier fans I've known who haven't played Drakengard 3 & 1 and don't realize its significance in creating what would eventually be the Nier timeline. This was a remarkably beautiful rendition and makes me tear up a bit, simply because Zero is one of my favorite protagonists in the Nier universe.
@Randono1919 Жыл бұрын
I mean, they pretty much only need to know the ending of Drakengard to know how it's related to Nier timeline, the rest of Drakengard lore, while interesting, aren't neccesarily impactful to Nier

@@Randono1919 drakengard 1 and 3 are INTEGRALLY linked to nier, to the point where a certain character from DR3 just showed up in the automata anime. Concepts like the angels/watchers and the dragons are extremely relevant to nier, and you can't really get that without the DR games (not that i recommend people playing terrible games when they could look up the info on the wiki...)
@Randono19192 ай бұрын
@@kishinslayer2228 Accord has been wandering around Nier long before the anime, but she wasn't necessarily impactful to the world, only playing the role of observer, the most significant presence is probably her dealing arms for the Resistance, but that about it. On that note, angels and dragons are relevant during the events of snow in summer and probably persisted until the end of the Legion. From that point onward, everything else that happened in Nier, while are indeed caused by Drakengard, are now independent from its influence. That's why I said people only need to know the ending of Drakengard to understand how Nier happened and not the entire lore of the game

I just found this video from my recommendations, from listening to other NieR piano music and wow. I think yours is the best I've came accross so far... so mad I haven't seen this before. Really good and clean sound, not to mention the superb playing itself... there's so much emotion and depth from these tracks. One can tell you've put your heart into them. The improvisations are perfect, and the calm and slower pace is so soothing, makes me wish they made these as quiet versions for some songs in the games. I'm in love with this version of Amusement Park and Hills of Radiant Winds, they are so different and lovely! And that Weight of the World, Vague Hope and Kainé made me tear up a bit (ok, a LOT). Completely made my day, thanks so much for sharing this and grats for your talent! ;-;

i feel like replicant/gestalt ost was a bit derivative, and by that i mean it took a lot from classical music - movements, passages and other things. automata's ost feels more original in these terms, while yes, there are still many things derived from classics (although i can't for the life of me remember the names and even composers), it has its own face and feels authentic and piano covers show that like nothing else could in my opinion thank you for this compilation, i finally managed to put my thoughts into words thanks to it edit: grammar

The Amusement Park is hauntingly good, especially during the Roller Coaster scene, it just feel melancholic, that an Amusement Park was made before the Humans was all gone, it was build in hope of bringing entertainment to families that are long been extinct and 2B and 9S trying to figure out about what "Humans" were. My other favorite is also the True Ending song Weight of the World, the choir made it memorable when you finally do ask for "Help" from others and realized humanities always been working together than fighting alone.
