0.22 kenos by Npesta is a 2.0/2.1 Extreme Demon mega-collaboration hosted by Bianox and verified and published by npesta on December 14, 2019,[1] and was rated later that day. It is a buffed and extended remake of Sakupen Hell. The Creation Process The first preview-video of Kenos was uploaded to KZbin by Bianox on December 6, 2016.[2] It showed 0% - 18% (which is now 13% - 28%) in its decorated state. Then, about one month later, ChiefFlurry, Endlevel, and DuaL KiKi made gameplay for the rest of the level and added a pre-extension. As a result, DollarC uploaded a full montage-video of Kenos on January 11, 2017.[3] (this layout is considered the "old version" of Kenos.) But unexpectedly, Bianox was forced to remove 56% - 64% from the level for unknown reasons, so ChiefFlurry held a creator contest in February 2017. After about a month, on March 17, 2017, ChiefFlurry uploaded a video titled "Kenos Creator Contest RESULTS!"[4] where it shows the results of the Kenos CC, hence the name. In 5th Place was Leptonic, in 4th Place was Ilrell, in 3rd Place was Drift, in 2nd Place was Andro3d, and in 1st Place was SlimJim, whose part is now in the current level today. Next, ChiefFlurry uploaded a second "teaser of Kenos" revealing the 64% - 74% decoration. Unfortunately, all parts of Kenos (except for SlimJim) were replaced with much less outdated decorations due to 2.1 coming out five months earlier. ChiefFlurry uploaded the third "teaser" of Kenos showcasing this new decoration while showing some more parts decorated. Then, more players began to upload videos of their parts, such as Pennutoh,[5] Zimnior12,[6] Splash,[7] Salaxium,[8] and Spectex.[9] Then finally, the level was finished on April 29, 2018, and ready for verification. Some people tried to showcase the level on their channel, like Zimnior12[10], Pennutoh,[11] and Combined.[12] Kenos was buffed to the max as Bianox added random gravity portals throughout the waves. The Verification Process Originally, the verifier was supposed to be ChiefFlurry, but right before the level was finished, he passed it onto Combined. Combined did not upload any progress videos since he did not think he had to. But his fans told him he should upload progress videos, so he uploaded his first progress video on August 1, 2018, when he got 71% for the third time.[13] His next progress video was uploaded on the same day,[14] and the video consists of him getting 90%. Then, on Halloween 2018, he got a devastating 97% on the level,[15]. He ended up buffing the level after that, such as buffing 28% - 31% to 4x speed. But on February 10, 2019, Combined uploaded a video titled "Why I stopped playing Kenos",[16] and the video shows him getting 97% again. Bianox then passed Kenos onto a player known as Crazen, who nearly immediately dropped it in April 2018 after getting 34%.[17] After this, it was passed onto a player named MirQ, who also dropped it after getting some good runs and 70%. Eventually, Kenos was out in the open for about a year until Bianox found a small player named npesta, known for verifying Deimos, a buffed remake of Phobos, and WOW, one of TrusTa's mega collabs. npesta started verifying the level in late April 2019, when he immediately did a 64% - 100% run.[18] Then, he started trying to get progress in the level but to no use. But one day on a stream, npesta ate a cliff bar and got past 46% twice, and then 53%.[19] After npesta got 53%, he tried to go for a 31% - 100% run on the level. It took him about a week to do it, but eventually, he did it on May 23, 2019.[20]Then, he tried to go back for more progress, and then he got 70%,[21] 83%,[22] and 88%.[23] Then, in early October 2019, npesta acquired a 240hz monitor. This caused npesta to buff the level because his 240-hertz monitor made the level much easier.[24] A few days later, he finished buffing the level.[25] After he made these buffs, he tried to do a 17% - 100% run to get consistent on the level again. Eventually, after two weeks, he did the run. Then finally, he got his worst fail on the level: 90%.[26] The fail made him extremely demotivated, and he said he was getting very stressed out over it. He once did an 8-hour stream, and he said in the stream that if he doesn't beat the level that day, he was going to nerf 79% - 84% (which is Spectex's part) due to him wanting the level to come out before 2.2. He did not beat the level that day, so he nerfed Spectex's part, and said he felt very bad for doing it.[27] npesta then said he would give one more day until he was going to nerf it again. That one more day was December 14, 2019, in which he did end up verifying the level after 135,320 attempts and 117 streams. Kenos Reaction Meme On Christmas Eve 2019 (10 days after the verification), Reddit user u/AGT-AM posted a video of someone beating Stereo Madness in practice mode, with npesta's reaction in the corner. This meme inspired more people to make memes, like the c**k island speedrun,[28] the Google Earth Cat speedrun,[29] and the black emoji speedrun.[30] These memes caused npesta to have his page on Know Your Meme,[31] and he even getting noticed by PewDiePie.[32] PewDiePie said that npesta was an "Impossible Game Speedrunner" that resulted in RobTop calling PewDiePie out on Twitter.
