This is heartbreaking. I am suffering the outcome of a similar demolition in Lagos. Nigeria is suffering from over development. Trying to construct roads when citizens are still very hungry. The most important infrastructure the government should provide for its citizens is stomach infrastructure. The consequence of the absence of stomach infrastructure is electoral and political violence, stealing, kidnapping and all sorts of crimes.

no, people simply have no discipline and build wherever like as if they're in their village or something(lagos is very notorious for this. take the market women at oshodi selling ON THE TRACKS!!! _before commencement of the red line sha_ ) nigeria as a matter of fact is suffering from under development, idk how you woke up, went out, looked around and decided that "hmm, yes, this country is overdeveloped" people build with no city planning, no right documentation, no regard for the environment, no building standards and safety measures, and get completely surprised when the government finally has their time. Nigerians will go to south africa, morocco, japan or wherever and come home and start talking about how fine and organized those places are, but this is the nonsense they condone in their own country, and then go on to wonder why the whole country(except abuja cuz it was a well planned city from the ground up) looks like a slum
