He's right! We weren't fantastic all tournament. We never dominated any match during the tournament. It's an average team, but we kept winning somehow. The team offers nothing going forward; we don't create chances, and there is no cohesion in the middle. Hope we'll qualify for the World Cup. We've drawn the first two qualifiers already.

There was no fighting attitude today from the team. Midfield was absent. Ivorians were fighting for each point and had the spirit to want to win. They deserve to win, Nigeria managed all through to final. If you can't score, you can't win. Ivory Coast deserved this win. They came to play. Although the referee's officiating was terrible, everyone knows the home team will always have that edge in the finals. While I'm happy that SE made it to the finals, this was a sub-par performance from our boys. This is a big lesson: you cannot park the bus and rely on winning on good goalkeeping and luck. You have to fight for it. We averaged possession of about 30% in the first half, and we barely had 5 or 6 shots on goal throughout the match, if my memory serves me right. We lacked creativity, and the coach should have taken some players like Nwobi and Calvin out earlier and put players like Omeruo and Bright on the team unless they were injured. This defeat was hard to take because the players didn’t give it a good fight. They made it too easy for CIV. Let’s not kid ourselves this has been our worst performance since the tournament started but then I blame Peseiro for it, for not rotating the squad, the squad looked burn out after the Angola match, this defeat was long overdue, we managed to escape it against South Africa, if we were able to bring out the draw till penalties it would have been anybody’s game. My only pain is we didn’t play like it was a final if we had gone all out and played our hearts out even if we lost 4-0 we will know we gave it our all, rather than let them dominate us
