Dr Abati, that is the genesis of our problem. The numbers are not correct. They just sit in their offices and write figures. Rufai also mentioned something close to this. There is no way food inflation is not close to 100%. The best would have been around 80%. Just take it from May 2023, Many commodities are more than triple. They are just deceiving themselves, not me. Also, the earlier the CBN realised that hiking interest rate will not solve inflation problems in Nigeria, the better. If they like, they can take the interest rate to 100%, they will only k*ll people, NOT inflation.
