Mr Adebayo, how can present day politicians restore good values in the society, when forgery, thuggery corruption is now the norm in Nigeria.

Sheun, you have adequately addressed our key challenges that have lingered for decades! I have confidence in this government that if it continues in this trajectory, economic recovery is almost assured! Most importantly, deal with the problems of insecurity

It is not possible. Nigeria would need to expand its economy($390 billion) by 33.1% per annum to meet the $1 trillion target in 2026. After that it would need to grow 39% per annum to reach $3 trillion before the decade is over(I.e. 2029).

Without further devaluation.
@kago500
@kago500 10 ай бұрын
@@ferpozie My estimation assumes all things remain as they are. If inflation and deliberate currency devaluation are accounted for it becomes even more impossible. Only way it can happen is if naira goes up in value, like $1=N150. And even then, the growth must be double digit.

ok first off, your analysis is right. the only thing missing is that the economy will soon be rebased. e-commerce is missing from the GDP calculations for now. and e-commerce went bunkers post-covid. last rebasing was 2014. ditto stuff like fintechs not captured at all. the economy must be looked at afresh to know what the new drivers are. if that happens, you'll have to recalibrate your workings. if we target 1 tr and end up around 800, that wont be a bad try. but we all must be able to work like no man's business and get ready for productivity

Some of the biggest problems we have in Nigeria is the dishonesty of the politicians and lack of transparency. All these trillions being bandied around dont add up considering the insecurity, lack of electricity, failed education and technical training systems, zero public health facilities and political and institutional corruption in Nigeria. Nigerians are being decieved again thesame way Buhari's APC government decieved us for the last 8 years. They are simply raising hopes without any measurable concrete plans on the ground.

@Alex; Is that your own take away from this good discussion? Just looking for every reason to pull this govt down. Criticism is a cheapest profession. The big takeaway is to returned to the practices under regional govt. If we can't brings the regional govt system back, let us do it at State level. Let each state produce in export quantity what they are blessed with.

@@tescobar2001 some of you just like to deceive yourselves by believing all these baseless rhetorics from these crooks and politicians, may be due to sentiments of some sorts or ignorance. You can only know know taste of your faeces by perceiving the how your fart smells. Tinubu and his present cabinet of crooks lack legitimacy and have nothing to offer this country. That is the unadulterated truth, but unfortunately some of you morons have chosen to be hoodwinked into believing them. Tinubu, based on his antecedents in government and lifestyle of falsehood and deceit cannot give what he doesn't have. He and his government keep making promises and pronouncements or propaganda that are not well articulated or planned, just to curry support or legimacy or to be seen to be striking the right chords, but those end up being catastrophic lies. How on this woke earth and generation would you want to believe these selfish criminals tell you the have about $10b in sight (loan oo) to be injected into the Nigerian economy when in reality the country has no capacity or collateral as a fall back to capability to be able to pay back such humongous loan? Who is that individual or country or organization that would do such a transaction? Are you that ignorant of the facts and reality? Mr Tescobar, so if you have $10b you would put it as an investment in an economy or country that literally everything has gone comatose. There are no economic activities, no functional infrastructure, insecurity is on all-time high, revenue from the country's mainstay keeps shrinking, the leader and his government at all levels swim in unimaginable corruption and dishonesty, trust in the system or govt been depleted or intact completly been eroded, your educational system is despicable,...there's nothing you can latch on to heeve a sigh of relief that it's atleast working. Who is that fool that will invest is this kinda deplorable shit-hole? Can you just stop deceiving yourself, go arm yourselves with the facts and be real to thyselves for once. Stop being sentimental with these issues because this people do not have you at heart. Does Tinubu have the will to start implementing these drastic measures on turning the economy around when he approved the N160b to purchase those jeeps for the thieves in National house of Assembly, knowing fully well that the government should be identifying avenues to cut down cost of governance. That was part of the loans recently borrowed arguably to inject into the economy to fight poverty. They just want to feel powerful borne out of the well of ego inherent in them. These sets of crooks have nothing to offer you all. If you all are in your right senses, you should be devising and discussing amongst the young people on how to get rid of these old and corrupt folks from that government. Help yourself out of sentiments ignorance pls. You can attack me though, but that's fine. But mark my words, nothing will come of this government of Tinubu, cos he doesn't have it takes to drive a country in the right direction based on his antecedents. In the next one month, I would like you to get back to me on the $10b injection. Also, let's see how BAT and his government will commence plans with states on getting everyone to start reviving their local economies. I would like to hear from you in the next one to 3 months on these issues. No way!

What was actually the purpose of inviting this man here? He didn’t really say anything useful! Crashing the parallel FOREX market and collapsing it into one market? Easier said than done! Until Nigeria gets to the root of the FOREX problem, which is fundamentally about production, all these talk amount to theoretical theatrics. They won’t work.

Nigeria is always full of analyzing issues without implementation. Nigeria can only thrive by federalism. Let each state run their affairs of their state with whatever resources they have and pay the federal taxes. Not states to depends on federal. That's where laziness comes up.
