It is not possible. Nigeria would need to expand its economy($390 billion) by 33.1% per annum to meet the $1 trillion target in 2026. After that it would need to grow 39% per annum to reach $3 trillion before the decade is over(I.e. 2029).

@@ferpozie My estimation assumes all things remain as they are. If inflation and deliberate currency devaluation are accounted for it becomes even more impossible. Only way it can happen is if naira goes up in value, like $1=N150. And even then, the growth must be double digit.

ok first off, your analysis is right. the only thing missing is that the economy will soon be rebased. e-commerce is missing from the GDP calculations for now. and e-commerce went bunkers post-covid. last rebasing was 2014. ditto stuff like fintechs not captured at all. the economy must be looked at afresh to know what the new drivers are. if that happens, you'll have to recalibrate your workings. if we target 1 tr and end up around 800, that wont be a bad try. but we all must be able to work like no man's business and get ready for productivity

Some of the biggest problems we have in Nigeria is the dishonesty of the politicians and lack of transparency. All these trillions being bandied around dont add up considering the insecurity, lack of electricity, failed education and technical training systems, zero public health facilities and political and institutional corruption in Nigeria.
