Animals mostly belong in the wild, the water or at home as pets ,but in Oja Oba market in Osun Oshogbo, Nigeria, animals like chameleons, crocodiles, rats, goats etc are used for fetish charms and voodoo.
"With just 150 Naira, i can hook the man of my dreams," says Adeola
BattaBox presenters Adeola and Timothy visits Osun Oshogbo's famous Oja Oba voodoo market, where you find cowries, animal horns, goat heads, cat heads and different dried out animals used to make any charm, be it for love , safe delivery, examination success, or whatever you desire.
"The dried rats are used to make concoctions for pregnant women's safe delivery," says the sales woman.
But most of these charms are not used for good, some could be used for evil or wickedness...
"Chameleons and rattle snake heads are used to do evil," says another man as he shows us around
Although if these charms really work, who are the people who buy charms from the Oja Oba market? Adeola asks one of the women.
"Our clients are Muslims, Christians and Herbalists," she says
When it comes to the tutorial on making love charms, Adeola has bigger plans for herself as she makes her special strong love portion for our Nigerian money bags, both home and abroad.
"Men, you people have finished," laughs adeola
Watch, enjoy and don't forget to share with your friends!

+Jide Whesu thank you. you can't understand those things with white mind. you hav to understand that the people who give it, know knowledge that is better than having money. these people are spiritual people who are like the rastafarians, living in nature that why u never see a city babalawo that is strong it only the bush ones. Even Jesus had to go to the wilderness to acquire power. nature is The only thing that is higher than everything on earth. study meta physics and you will see some things

I will never judge the traditional medicines. I wish they didn't involve killing animals, but I'm not casting any judgement. In many circumstances we shouldn't be made to feel ashamed of our ways in face of western influence; skin, food, beliefs, language. They are valuable despite us being taught to abandon them.

For Nigeria is it voodoo or vodun. I keep hearing that voodoo is the european term and vodun is the true practice done in West Africa but i can barely find anything on vodun but i can find a ton on voodoo. If i brought a book on voodoo is the only difference the name of the practice. Is vodun the same as voodoo?

Seems you don't understand what they mean by wealth. How do you mean they are poor? they have a business are taking care of their families. What you are doing is trying to quantify their wealth, that is how much of it they have. The general way of praying against poverty is to ask for wealth, how much of it you have now depends on hard work and luck. A wealthier person may ask you why so are so poor despite all your belief in Jesus, right? You guys are quick to pass traditional beliefs to objective tests and never ask yourselves the same questions.

I have travelled to Nigeria and everybody there is not poor. In fact, I would go so far as to say that some are rich. Unlike here in America everything isn't how it looks on the outside. So the stalls aren't pretty but if you go to peoples home they own them out right and have them built from the ground up. Stuff like this doesn't tell the whole story of what is going on in Nigeria. Also from the place of government there is a lot of corruption there and that has an effect on life in general. I would not say that people in Nigeria are generally poor though. And would she really be making KZbin videos and have the equipment to do it if she were poor? Not likely.

Jeshua doesn't ask us to do any ritual and any sacrifices. He says come to me and I will give you rest. Jesus does not require ANY of these dirty behaviors. Oh What a friend we have in Jesus. He Himself shed His blood and died for us all. Oh Hallelujah Praise the Lord. You people need to turn away from your evil ways and turn your hearts to God. Jesus loves you and there is nothing too hard for GOD. He says come to me ye who are heavy laden. You talk about ancestors and forefathers....The Lord Almighty is with us, The God of Jacob is our Fortress. He is the Great I AM, A chain breaker, A pain taker, a Love giver, A Father, A Mother, A Peace giver....Wont you give your life to Him today? Wherever you may be....Find a local Seventh-Day Adventist church to visit/attend. Go and touch the hem of His garment and be made whole today! Have a blessed Sabbath in Jesus' name. Amen

Evelyn Peters Peters Hate to tell you this religonist clone But the worship of the Orisha predates christianity by several hundred years. Also the Orisha, Legba, Ogun, Chango, Oshun, Yemoja, are not gods, merely servants of the almighty spirit. You might consider them angels. consider this, Christians drank the blood of their dead and the druids of Europe sacrificed virgin children to insure the spring would come. Be careful criticizing that which you know nothing of. I and my people see it as worship of the same god, by a different society.

This is the religion of our West African ancestors, some forms are the oldest forms of religion on the planet. This means more than any other religion to me even though I was raised outside of Africa and I'm half East Indian. This is the religion of a FREE people, ones who never accepted any part of colonialism or slavery or indoctrination, ones who remained proud of their ancestry and culture and didn't sell out just to seem more "civilized" in the eyes of colonizers and "missionaries". It does make me sad that some animals like leopards are killed though, I wish they could use fake fur lol. I'm just learning about West African Vodun as part of my ancestry research, while fascinating I think selling these animal based items leads to poaching and useless killing of animals :-( But I would love to learn more about the herbs and other items used in Vodun practices though, for sure. That market is fascinating.
