@@SassyFunke Some members of the Covid task force inspected the Abuja airport on Thursday to see the level of preparedness. The new terminals in Abuja and Kano will be sufficient. The main challenge will be the Lagos airport.

I'm not sure about the UK but I know that in most European countries once you are vaccinated you receive an electronic vaccination certificate via an app so you always have it with you on your mobile. It usually has your name, dob, name of vaccine, and a qr code.

Just to ask ,I am a fully vaccinated person travelling back to Dublin on the 3rd February 2022 via Air France.Dublin does not requires a pcr test again from 7th Jan 2022 for a fully vaccinated.Do I still need one to fly out from Nigeria? Hi Sassy Just a follow up, Although you have mentioned repeatedly that one needs to undergo two types of test,according to your test statue when one travels to Nigeria.I was listening to Lagos health commissioner on Covid-19.According to him, he said one needs to undergo another test when travelling back again.This l am not clear about and l want you to throw more light,thanks as always

Yes there is a rule for outbound passengers - They either need to be fully vaccinated or will need to do a 48hr PCR test (in addition to any requirements by your destination country)

Thanks Sassy Quick question: Can we still travel to Nigeria on an expired Nigerian passport. What’s the duration of the waiting time for passport to be issued after change of data passport application. Application and supported documents are sent to Abuja (Nigeria) for processing after payment and capturing in the Uk. Then sent back from Abuja to Uk , Nigerian high commission after which they contact the individual via email to collect. I have applied since 2018 for a reissue through the data change process after marriage and rearrangement of my name. Still waiting to be contacted for collection. Followed it up with the Nigerian high commission in the UK four times. No one could give me a positive answer. Same old story. I just have to keep on waiting. Please advise on way forward. Travelled last year September on an expired Nigerian passport with no problem.

Amen, we will make it there together. You will have to go to your selected centre/lab to take both test (no home kits). The costs of the test depends on the state/lab you take the test in. Lagos tends to be priced the highest at around N50,000 per test

Hi Sassy Funke, I will like to commend you for doing great job by creating awareness and making travel to Nigeria easy. however, I will like to ask you very import question I applied for Nigeria passport since August last year which i have not even be call for interview yet, i intend travel by February ending to Nigeria with this situation what can i do? I have my British passport have been hearing so many opinion like travel with your old passport and all the forms of the newly applied passport. other suggest there is a site to applied for visa for the British passport whereby it will be stamped on point of entry in Nigeria. i will appreciate it if you have information regard this question.

Call the airline if they will allow you travel with an expired passport. If they are ok with it, then you're fine. Just bring along proof that you have applied for a renewal to show immigration when you land in Nigeria. If the airline will not accept the expired passport, get an Emergency Travel Certificate (these are issued on the same day)

For the return test you’ll have to pay that separately from either the clinic website or in person the day of your appointment.

I believe there is wifi- just not great wifi. Nevertheless, I would ask another passenger if you could make a quick call. That is what I have done in the past and people have always obliged.

For the portal payment I always call my bank to authorize the transaction. You can also pay with PayPal which I’ve tried and it worked. Also, before traveling call your bank to authorize your card transactions when you’re out of U.S. I know some banks won’t allow it (My bank doesn’t) due to high level of internet fraud in Nigeria. My bank advised me to withdraw enough cash in the U.S before traveling.
