Roberto felt 'blocked'. He was both the Ballon d'Or winner and the very first FIFA world player award winner in 1993, so... the responsability to make Italy do well that year fell on his shoulders. In the game against Nigeria, his parents, wife and daughter came to the US. Roberto's mother, Matilde, was held by the stewards, as they feared she might turn herself into a pitch-invading fan. Roberto somehow heard his mother screaming, blew her a kiss and Roberto himself smiled, as his right hand turned into a fist. The Divine Ponytail ended up scoring a brace of goals that day and... the rest is history! Hope they also bring the game against Bulgaria! I'm Italian, by the way.

@@DonQwantsyou , and that makes it right? I have heard Zidane say Ronaldo de Lima was the best too. However, we all have eyes and think differently too. Hence, the statement, 'different strokes for different folks'. Even here on KZbin, you can watch the best of Baggio and compare it with the best of Messi. Then you will see that Baggio wouldn't even lace Messi's boots. They're incomparable. We should be comparing Messi, Maradona and Pele. Not with Baggio.
@DonQwantsyou4 жыл бұрын
@@ugoboss6898 no, baggio should not stoop to tie messi's boots. how many WC finals goals does Messi have, Baggio has at least 9 and played in 3 WCs, and just missed an overtimes goal by a hair that would have eliminated France in OT in 1998. How many clutch goals has messi had vis a vis Baggio? Baggio could play as a midfielder or striker. Check out some opinions on the internet, some have Baggio as high as NINTH best player ALL TIME. Messi is also an all time great player but has , like Baggio never won a WC, so you need to rethink your opinions. Ronaldo of Portugal in my opinion may be the greatest player of all time ( check out his goals records in the Champions League and the amount of trophied his teams have won, NO ONE IS CLOSE.)

"lock in the opponent's arm, simply dive @ the ground with opponent still attached" Wunderbar!! always done due to desperation.. "hope no one noticed"!

If they had been able to finish the match with the goal they scored in the first half time, Nigeria would have qualified to the final. They were able to beat Spain and Bulgaria.
FROM THE COMMENTS HERE, I NOTICED BAGGIO IS THE ONLY PLAYER THAT DID MAGIC & WE DIDN'T SEE WHAT OKOCHA BROUGHT TO THE TABLE...... I GUESS WE ARE NOT ALL TALKING ABOUT THIS MATCH. THATNIS NOT TO TAKE ANYTHING AWAY FROM BAGGIO'S BRILLIANCE BUT NIGERIA GAVE THEM A RUN FOR THEIR PERFORMANCE. MY OPINION, A PROUD NIGERIAN.

Nigeria un equipo lleno de talento y potencia , Italia un equipo mucho más sólido con baggio en modo divino. Nigeria se derrumbó con el empate en los 90s. Gran partido histórico

Albertini foul on amunike @ 30:05 was a straight red by today's standards, reckless studs up challenge and he missed the ball

I can’t forget that year we had a steepest night but I must say that was the best defensive team and very strong fit set of players Super Eagles Ever had
