I used to have a great disdain for the Nigerian team but being a follower of the Danish team I've always known them to be a good footballing team IMO should be up there with spain as they play a nordic style of Spanish football. That being said we mustn't forget that we were going through great political turmoil, our dictator died the same day we beat spain and we were embarking on a transformation.

@hfc if you think the Laudrup brothers were world class then I don't think you know your football that well. Schmeichel was a goalkeeper but he can easily be beaten just like any goalkeepers out there. That Nigerian team was full of quality coupled with individual brilliance. You can't really compared them with that average but disciplined Danish side!

So although it’s true that Michael in particular was no longer in his prime, his performances clearly showed that he was in fact STILL world class. Just shows how ridiculously good he was when he actually was at his peak 🤯👌👏!! The truth is, Denmark were indeed an average side, but the Laudrup brothers alone always made them a team that could beat anybody on their day.
