As far back as 2005 when my dad visited SA, he gave me some insights about the country and since then I've known they are far ahead of us. He said more than 90% of cars on the road are new, so the Corollas and "Big Daddys" that roam our roads today were what they drove 20 years ago. My dad was particularly wowed and interested in their agricultural system which is world class even in 2005. The SA side of my X (Twitter) also further confirms the fact that these guys walk into dealerships and pick up, not just brand new, but also the latest models of cars and SUVs. Imagine the word "mechanic" being alien to this guy. That's how good they have it.

We're still like in the stone age when other counties are fast ahead of everything. Its so sad tbh

Painful part now is that those corolla with almost 200k miles are selling for 4 million, and some people will kill for it. God who we offend for this country

Nigeria of old had that standard in the 60s and 70s.

They buy new cars because most of the known brands produce the cars in their country due to their favorable governmental policies hence making the cars not so expensive to buy as new .. plus they have credible credit options to pay on installments. It all boils down to our government and economy… e go better sha , I hope this generation doesn’t fail the next one ❤

Well, here you pay cash or you don't buy at all,...

The cars are expensive, its just that we have finance options. E.g a 2024 polo vivo can go for 4k p.m for 6years
