NIGERIAN DELEGATION LEARNS FROM LAIKIPIA, KENYA'S LEADING WILDLIFE CONSERVATION HUBS
Nigerian delegation, led by Minister of Environment Hon. Izaq Adenkule, have today visited Laikipia County for a benchmarking session focused on worldlife conservation.
This delegation aims at strengthening legislative measures against wildlife trafficking in their country.
Nigerian representatives sought guidance from Kenyan counterparts on legal frameworks, enforcement strategies, and successful case studies in wildlife conservation.
Deputy Governor H.E Reuben Kamuri facilitated discussions this morning, sharing insights that the County Government of Laikipia has adopted to aid in the enactment of the draft “Nigerian Endangered Species Conservation and Protection Bill, 2024.”
"Sharing our conservation practices with the Nigerian delegation today underscores our commitment to wildlife protection. Collaborative efforts like these pave the way for a sustainable future for our precious wildlife," said Deputy Governor Kamuri.
The meeting was organized by the Environmental Investigation Agency UK.
