it's highlife, primarily Ghanaian similar to the igbo conca and whistle beats and that made it popular back in the day in naija but nigeria always puts a spin to it I actually love like odogwu by burna.

Afro beat is originated from highlife , the influence of Afro beat is Highlife coiled by Fela. Ebo Taylor and Fela always collaborate in early 70s. So Everybody should read the history or the Genesis of Afro beat. Your surely knows that history. You Google you found out .

It's not about pidgin. It's about accent. I was also shocked to find out he is Ghanaian. Where is his accent? He sounds Nigerian, I am amazed honestly. The Ghanaian accent is very strong and different from naija's own. Amazing.. ❤️

Let’s be honest . He incorporated some Nigerian accent into it. I’m Ghanaian and I can understand why you’d think it’s a Nigerian song
@Virtuous_Heart2 жыл бұрын
@@vashninjaka2587 you heard hilife and you say it sounds Nigerian. Same way I hear Nigerians say they started Azonto, afrobeats, etc. simply because they heard their fellow Nigerians sing those genres. Too funny

This is just highlife...there is no afrobeat in this. To the outside world it's afrobeats but any Ghanaian knows this sound is pure highlife.

The issue with Ghanaians is that they sing only for themselves in their twi language and expect the world to understand
@afuantumi27682 жыл бұрын
Ghana, Cameroon, Nigeria & Sierra Leon also speak pidgin slight variations so that might be why you think it sounds Nigerian and Afrobeats comes from highlife - Ghana so, just like jolof is Senegambia but ghana and Nigeria hijacked it.

Guy You tell yourself the truth if only you will be honest does he sound Ghanaian to you i as a Nigerian i can tell you straight away when I hear Ghanaian speaking pidgin from your accent i will tell you that this person is from Ghana when he or she speaks pidgin but this guy here sound more like a Nigerian his accent says alot but that doesn't change the fact that he his a Ghanaian

@@williamonome3027 mate perception varies in people even I’m told I sound Nigerian sometimes so what ? You cannot force people to see things your way all the time everyone is entitled to their opinion please move on.
