I’m American and very white but I ALWAYS do my makeup like the Nigerian side. I have a really round face and my eyes are sort of close together, so the really defined and snatched look is more attractive to me. I blow my eyeshadow all the way out to my ears sometimes and drag highlighter up to my forehead. I seriously snatch myself and look like a totally different person. I’m really proud when I do it well. I don’t wear makeup much anymore because effort and I tend to prioritize sleep, BUT when I do wear makeup it’s never light or natural. I want people to be able to see and tell what I did to my face because that’s my art and my expression. I’m not trying to be subtle or incognito.

yes, I know what you mean about their makeup, as I've watch Nigerian program on Netflix and wow. I have to say, there is so much time on our faces now, and in about 10 yrs, you will look back and probably snicker.
