The FG and Dangote allegations and counter-allegations have brought to light some truth in the sector.
The quality of finished oil products and shares on the NNPC in Dangote refinery, the selling price of Dangote finished products, the quantities of oil barrels received and refined daily, the duties of NUPRA in the sector and the allegations of NNPCL ownership of refinery in Malta are all questions that need to be cleared answered and understood.
The National Assembly has set up a committee on this issue and hopefully this administration can unravel the mess and corruption in the oil and gas sector and set Nigerians free from perpetual corruption and bondage.

A government that cares won't be buying cars of 150m each for national assembly members. That's the height of disconnect. Even in other African countries, I haven't heard that. The politicians do not feel the hunger in the land

Large population\millions of personal interests = chaos. The issue is balancing individualism and collectionism.

Highest level of the problem started when they started destroying the refineries. That I think started under Jonathan. The issue affected every other thing; most especially dollars to naira.

I think your submission is a bit conservative with reality... The truth is that would you rather deal with people who have no track record In delivering anything with someone who has constantly delivered... It's a no brainer the government don't want monopoly alright but they have 4 refineries that have not delivered anything and have been a basket of waste for years, and so what if dangote monopolize the market at this point... It is a matter of national Interest that that refinary is not sabotaged not only for Nigeria but it's important for Africa and the entire black race that we get it running.... Yes the IOC are not happy with the immense disruption in the oil market and our government is also being a puppet to the West through IOC's due to interest that affect the presidency directly and everyone wants to get their fingers in the cookie jar as the refinary has the potential.... Dangote refinary must survive and God willing never in the hands of NNPC as that will be the beginning of the end of the dream of Africa being energy efficient and it doesn't matter if it's Dangote a capitalist... Besides America was built by a few local capitalist so why not Nigeria and by extension Africa.... And in regards Nigerians protesting you must understand that everyone is aware of the shenanigans the government is also playing is not in their Interest of the people and dangote's scenario has also played out directly in almost everybody's lives... The people are behind dangote because it has to do with out energy Independence as a country

I think you haven't really understood what is going on in Nigeria. There is a total disconnect between the elites nd the ordinary people. So something needs to change about that.

Let me educate you. The government of Nigeria allows 1-2 private companies to do business is not privatization lol. It's still a monopoly lol. When you allow 50-100 different companies to compete for the business of the people, that would be when things will get better in the society

@zaksd1487 That's not true. What is happening to Dangote happens every single day to the small businessman. The majority of these big rich men are also part of securite societies that only allow their kind to survive. This a cult

I like the balance in your simple presentation.. Not being an expert, I appreciate how you didn't throw out sentiments...like I see many people from Eastern/Southern Nigeria do... especially everyday people who are just sharing their views. 🎉

Nigerians are very forgetful. I already told an acquaintance that I would never join the protest. Dangote is a business man, he’s not stupid. It’s deeper than is being exposed. I also think Nigerians are looking for over inflated change, which is not possible. The list I saw of what we are protesting for , is too much. We as a country should learn the importance of taking things step by step. Why end sars, was successful was because we concentrated on one thing. Most of what is requested for can be achieved through wide spread local government involvement. The local government autonomy is to our advantage. But since we like overnight magic, we left our due diligence (ask questions in the local government where you are and attend meetings, bring back youth involvement) this will put every local government chairman on their toes, it is a good starting point

Nigeria cant run a refinery. Privatisation has to done done diligently and with the right motives or else it won't work but it is a good tool but it has to be done properly. The wrong people end up getting the assests. There can not be monopoly because that refinery is of national intrest. Dangote wont be able to fix unrealistic costs because he will be frustrated. Let the refinery work, this is the right thing to do the economy is dependent on that refinery since we have refused to accept we have orther natural resources accross board some which are worth more than crude

Your analysis is weak. It has been revealed the Tinubu are in charge of the refinery in Malta that supplies sub standard products to Nigeria. The Dangote refinery is a rare instance where the benefits to the Nigeria are extremely clear. It would significantly curb the currency devaluation, it should even make it move in the opposite direction. This had tangible positive benefits on every Nigerian. It will bring down the cost of fuel for Nigerians. Better quality so the vehicles will need less maintenance. It is all positive even if he wasn't offering a % to the government and it was a 100,% monopoly it would still be an improvement on the current situation.
