Ladies, what will you do if somebody's son tells you to quit your job?

I think men should be helped financially by their wives. So they can retire early. Telling someone's daughter to stay at home is a burden to the man. And there are rich men who are financially abusive and reckless with their lives. If he is happy he will give you money if he is not then he will degrade you. It's better for the wife to work and keep the money as pocket money then. And even when the husband dies at least the wife has her own money. Because some inlaws are wicked they will take everything your husband bought.

Somebody's son can not even dream of saying i should resign because he met me working on a rig and he knows I love my job and profession just like he does his. We talked about it before we got married and my family told him too.

Hmmm… can we take a moment to talk about the death of a woman’s career when she unfortunately has a special needs child? Especially when the family relocates abroad and she has to become the primary caregiver? The husband works but lacks the motivation to earn more than the minimum wage, while the wife wants to go back to school so as to better her lot in life. Would sending the child that has special needs back home to family be a better option? Please Aunty Flo weigh in on this matter. Soon to be 40 year old and utterly lost. God bless you ma’am

Sometimes in life we also want to be able to accomplish some things by effort and not be gifted them. I think I would prefer blaming myself if I don't meet my desires than blaming another human being. Except I don't fancy my job, but for all these reasons I'll pleasantly say "No, thank you"....😅

I love that you are facing your career and your dynamics works for you. Sometimes it’s hard and very difficult cos every family dynamics, situation etc is different and women have to step down and care for the kids for a little especially when they are younger. When this has to happen, the parent with the higher earning power, job in demand and experience takes the lead and as kids grow, the woman who decided to slow her own career can ease back into a full time career. While doing this, make sure you are retraining or getting some type of certifications as a boost for your come back.

We keep adapting as we live life. I've had to adapt a lot too. I used many nannies. Staying home is not always the only solution. And for someone like me that can't stay at home, I will always explore numerous other options first. The thing is that in addition to the Mum guilt we feel, if a bad partner adds to that with their bad mouth, we would be defeated. But a loving partner will be brainstorming with you to find another solution if you really do not want to stay home. My own Mum left us to go to school and my Dad took care of us while still working. This was in the 70s ooo. In a lot of cases, nobody needs to stay home. It's not written on stone that it is only women that can take care of children. Everybody needs to step up.
