Poet, playwright, and novelist Fred D'Aguiar was the Judith E. Wilson Fellow at Cambridge University. He has won the Guyana Poetry Prize twice, and was shortlisted for the T.S. Eliot Prize in 2009. His 2014 novel Children of Paradise is a fictional reimagining of the Jonestown massacre in Guyana. He is currently the Director of the Creative Writing Program & Professor, English, UCLA
