Nice video as always, but I have a question: Many times when you "take the drop" looking for uku or mu, there are none around. You often surface, disappointed that you weren't able to score. BUT....I often see wahanui in the distance, cruising in mid-water, and wonder why you don't bang those?? They are EXCELLENT eating, just like opakapaka or uku, and will suffice if the other good fish aren't around. Do you ever spear wahanui?? I grew up in Hawaii (Oahu) and dived all over the islands, even Ni'ihau and Kaho'olawe because we always had a haole sampan while I was growing up that would get us to remote places on all the islands. I took that boat all ovah da' place, and fished and dived all the way! I live in Washington state now, and tend to miss the islands, and especially the fishing and diving, and EATING the products of those sports. Keep up the good work! Aloha to you out dea'.

I used to grind wahanui but now I’m extremely selective. We had an Ono on board, and I knew I was grabbing lobster so on this trip, in order for me to shoot something it would have to have been pretty nice.
