I know this sounds crazy, but I think the Night Fury on the dragon eye has to do with where the Night Furies USED to live. I bet that place on the "map" was once Night Fury Island (this is what I am calling it for now) from many centuries ago. You know how Night Furies have fins on their tail? Two pairs, on the end and base of their tails. I bet, Night furies were once underwater dragons, much like the Thunderdrum (who also has fins/wings on the base of their tail). Over time, sea levels went down and so did the Night Fury population, which caused the survivors to lay "evolved" eggs. This would further explain why Night Furies have echolocation, again, similar to a Thunderdrum. Over time, the Night Furies became smaller and more jet/bullet shaped and started to move more and more near the shore. They would start shooting fire, instead of sonic blasts, and this is when humans started to learn about them since the deep water dragons began to surface... right in the human's ship courses. With small population, Night Furies began stealing food and attacking their village. The humans started to hunt the Night Furies, which is what the ships and weapons represent, but the newly evolved dragons quickly adapted and gained learned to shoot fire, which defended them against wood ships. They also started to become fire proof after all of the fights with other dragons and humans. The Night Furies would later destroy a boat which held the Dragon Eye and during this time, the Dragon Eye had all of its lenses in one place. Once the lenses were scattered, the humans that once loved dragons grew frustrated and angry with them. The lenses where scattered and the dragon eye was ship bound to The Reaper until the Dragon Riders found it. Over time, Night Furies started to rival with dragons like Skrills and Whispering Deaths, with every other generation evolving and becoming smarter. This would explain why Night Furies shoot lightning like fire and also why they prefer being up high like a cat, perched, because they adapted. This would also explain why they are so powerful and intelligent, and why they eat fish only when it is raw (unlike Hookfang, a Stoker Class, that prefers his food cooked). Toothless has shown us that he can hold his breath under water for a long time and he's also very adaptable to situations, such as when he defeated the Triple Stryke, by triggering some kind of defensive attack rage.

UPDATED THEORY: The image wasn’t meant to describe the Night Fury. It was a map to The Hidden World which is the only place Night/Light Furies could be found. But why would they use an image of a Night Fury to represent a map of The Hidden World? One answer: Grimmel. As is said in the third movie, The Hidden World wasn’t something only Stoick knew about. He says that sailors told the stories and looking at characters like Johann and other sailors, they like to talk. So I assume The Hidden World would be a myth that people had at least heard of. Now for a guy like Grimmel, this would be valuable info. If you look at his reaction to finding out there is one more Night Fury, he is shocked at first but recovers very quickly because he knows one place that a Night Fury could have hid, that being The Hidden World. Now if you are wondering how this pertains to The Dragon Eye I’ll tell you. Grimmel built The Dragon Eye. Think about it, Grimmel and Hiccup we’re purposefully designed to be similar. Many have said that Grimmel is what Hiccup would have become had he killed Toothless that day in the woods. Assuming this is intentional this would suggest Grimmel is inventive and good at engineering little contraptions. Not to mention a hunter of Grimmel’s taste would have great use for something like that because he is clearly well known and many would try to steal his notes on each dragon. However, if he designed it to be almost impossible to open without the key that would be beneficial to him. It also makes sense that it would require a dragon to operate since Grimmel clearly uses dragons as tools if he needs to. So now that this is out of the way, there is one question. Why would some lenses require a Night Fury to see through? Well I believe there is two reasons. Reason one is that Grimmel held onto some Night Furies and used them but this is unlikely since he is very clear that he KILLS Night Furies and also what’s the point because as soon as he does kill the Night Fury later he’ll have nothing to access the lenses. No, my theory is that he used the Light Fury. When Grimmel is shown the Light Fury one of the warlords refers to it as his “favorite bait”. This suggests that Grimmel often had Light Furies as bait for the Night Furies. Since they both use plasma and are very close relatives, I believe that Light Furies can also access the Night Fury lenses with their own plasma blasts. So that’s my theory. I feel like nobody is going to actually read this all the way through but if you do then thanks. I wrote this in the middle of the night since it came to mind and I couldn’t brush it aside. That’s why it might be a bit jumbled and confusing but if you understand then great! I’d love to hear any criticism or additions you have so feel free to do so.

When Hiccup uses the Dragon Eye for the very first time, actually Toothless unlocks it, at the end of "Dragon Eye of the Beholder part 2", we see the Hunter's tribal crest, a strange Dragon, a ship and a lot of text. All that, let's call it the "Intro page", came from the fire of a Night Fury. The fact that a Night Fury figure is in the middle of this projection, which came from a Terrible Terror, means that the Night Fury has some sort of connection to finding the Dragon Eye lenses. The fire of a Night Fury could create different projections, not only the "Intro page", as we see in "Gone Gustav Gone", and once when the Moon hit the lens, Toothless unlocked the Lycanwing page in "Bad Moon Rising". This definitely means that the Hunters had Night Furies before, and they used their fire to unlock certain pages of the Dragon Eye. We know that Hunters are working with another baddie. Drago. Drago has almost definitely encountered Night Furies before, so maybe, his ancestors did too. Maybe the connection between the Hunters and Drago goes way back, hundreds of years ago. Viggo once said that the Dragon Eye belonged to the Hunters for centuries. I think, that centuries ago, when the Hunters and Drago's ancestors joined forces, they started hunting down Night Furies and other Dragons, to sell them, but to also construct the Dragon Eye and create lenses. About the projection from "Maces and Talons part 2", it could mean that the Night Fury somehow unlocks the maps that lead to all lenses. The different distances from the Night Fury could be simply space wise, or they could mean that they are on a different distance from a certain island, maybe their HQ island back in the past or maybe even an Island full of Night Furies. (but that's just me hoping) About your theory that the Hunters may have been protectors of Dragons before, I'm afraid I have to disagree. In the "Intro page", at the top of the projection we see a cage, and a Dragon head with chains going from it. Since I doubt the Dragon eye lenses were changed, I think that the Hunters were Hunters since their beginning.

Actually I have 2 theories: 1. Night Furies are an Alpha species like the Bewilder Beast 2. Viggo’s tribe were the protectors of the Night Furies like The Defenders of the Wing protect the Eruptidon Night Furies are the fastest and one of the strongest dragons out there and Toothless is the only one we know of. Valka told us that Toothless May be the last of his kind, not that he IS the last Night Fury. How else would Toothless have stopped Drago’s Bewilder best if he wasn’t an Alpha kind? I believe that Viggo’s tribe found a group of Night Furies and tamed them, but if they did, what happened with Toothless and why is he the last of his kind? The answer is simple: As the Grimborn tribe grew older, they became more violent and cruel which is where Viggo and Rikker come into the picture. The two young Vikings were heirs to their father’s tribe so, they both set out to bring their Night Furies back. The brothers recruited their friends on their quest. With the Dragon Eye missing, Viggo and Rykker decides to find it and this is what happens during Race To The Edge. Why they had Dragon Hunters? I don’t know yet and this is just a theory. So, ya

Aha, I always love these videos. :) One thing, though. I don't think Hiccup and Toothless were specifically looking for more Night Furies in the second movie. Hiccup was creating a map of the archipelago, then was just listing off types of dragons they might run into while exploring. After five years of never seeing another Night Fury other than Toothless, he was thinking maybe it would be cool to finally find one, among all the other kinds of dragons they find. They weren't out there with the sole intent of finding them.

I never noticed the signs of the Bewilderbeast in the series until I watched your videos about it and I also noticed how Dagger said that the dragons get a little fidgety when they are at the lower part of Berserker Island. Dragon eye lens on the boat refers to the time the riders found a lens on the shield with a change wing on it and the weapons are clearly in reference to the armour wing with the lens on it in the season 6 trailer.

The lense surounded by the 7 weapons can show that the Night Furys were being hunted, and the lense with a ship under it could show a certain someone (Grimile) setting off on that mission to kill all Night Furys. Or it could be that the people who made the Dragon Eye were setting off to gain information on the Night Furys to kill them. 2:53 Ok, so lense that surrounded by weapons: Passed down from hunter generation to hunter generation, which is how Vego knew about the Eye. The lense in the Viking ship is from the ship wreck when they first started the series. The one off to the distance has some sort of water around it, probably meaning it's on one of the islands where they found the lenses. And finally, the Night Fury in the middle shows how you have to use a Night Fury's flame to see lenses. (edit) 5:03 The different placing of the lenses are showing the order that you have to place them. It doesn't really matter where compared to the world around them, just as long as you know the order and the what the symbols mean.

I feel like Viggo's tribe lived in the original island of the night fury used the night fury's as their symbol (like dagur used the skrill as his). Drago Bludvist probably came along trying to conquer islands and expand his territory and destroyed this tribe along with the night furies on the island. The survivors of the tribe probably became merchants and since merchants travel to several islands they might have hid the dragon lenses in different islands all over the archipelago trying to hide it from Drago. The survivors of the tribe might have been able to salvage a night fury egg which ended up getting lost or stolen when they were trading at berk. That might be why toothless was found near berk. The night fury in the centre is probably representing the home island of Viggo's tribe as the night fury is their symbol. The lenses shown are representing the islands they were hidden in. The whole map is a compass with the night fury in the centre. there is a line going north, east,south and west. The reason the lines are touching the lenses in the map is to show the direction to travel to retrieve the lenses in case they needed to be found in the future again. The reason Heather has the dragon lens showing the way to the bewilderbeast (most important lens) is because the merchants (Viggo's tribe) traded the lens with Odin the agreable because they knew the berserkers were to strong for Drago at that stage.

This is just an idea but when I lined up all the info from your other videos, but you have said things about the bewilderbeast be the king of dragons, but in season 6 I noticed how what happened was is that the dragon eye led us to a titan wing that's fire revealed the bewilderbeast has the king of dragons. Although nothing is really ever said that it for sure is the king, so my idea was that Mabey Toothless or his species are in fact the king of dragons, although just like titan wings, only some do become the king of dragons, and when you think about it, the definition of the king of dragons said that it was powerful and could control other dragons with its mind, although.....in the end of the last moving, we see Toothless in fact glowing, and as we also saw in the 2cd moving, there is still more to learn about toothless abilities, so going a long withwhat happens in the end, we see toothless and many others dragons behind him as he turns them against the bewilderbeast, now my idea is that Mabey they weren't helping toothless, but that they were being controlled, controlled with the mind,in others words, toothless in my opinion might be the king of dragons, which also explains the N.F in the middle of dragon eye. Anyway I hope you guys see this and give me your responses or opinions on this idea

There’s something about the dragon lenses though because if you look towards the newest season of race to dragons edge there’s you can overlap lenses so they might need the other lenses indicated in the image for any actual information and there’s also the possibility of specific fires needed to use it

It's because they just reused the same character models every time because they're too lazy and don't have the time to make new ones.

Absolutely no excuses for their laziness. 'The Incredibles' used the same character models, but made little changes to their faces so that they looked completely new. I'm pretty sure 'Dragons' could do the same, especially in the huge time gap the animators have between each season. Like Lecca said, they're just lazy.

Im just going to call out the fact of in the first movie Toothless drew some random thing the dirt, that I belive is a flight path, Hiccup's drawing probably reminded him of whatever group he(Toothless) may have been apart of before he was separated... or if he was never apart of a group then he must have been taught by whoever gaurded his egg... or its passed down by genetic memory... and let me remind you that when he was drawing he(Toothless) looked back at hiccup and added a dot or something... just a theory Hiccup. ps, that is my nickname

the Night fury page is a map, showing the co-ordinates of the dragon eye lenses. remember, hiccup found a dragon eye lense on a boat, and in the leikenwing episode they found a lense in a sword

I mean, its pretty obvious. To see the info aboit the night fury you need to find all the special lenses thats hinted about in that image. Its similar to how they had to found a bunch of lenses to see info of the alpha Dramillion

Revised comment: Ok my theory is that the "Nightfury" in the center isn't a nightfury, but actually a lightfury. The lenses that are displayed may just be infact keys to clues to find the hidden world. Like how in the end of HTTYD 3 (Spoilers ahead) Hiccup, Astrid, and their kids use a boat to get to the hidden world, this would be the boat lense. The one with the weapons symbolizes war and humans and how they might have driven the dragons to go into the hidden world. And the others I'm sure are similar and the colors symbolize the luminescent parts of the hidden world.

the night fury that is in the center with all the lenses around it, could mean that you need all of the lenses to find out about the night fury's and the things around the lenses could be some thing you need to get that particular lens.

I think that the images around the Dragon Eye Pieces describe their location. For example, the ship has small eel-like shapes underneath. Very much like the piece found on the ship with giant eels that surround the ship while under the water.
