Thanks so much for sharing this wonderful example of what can be done with charcoal. My yard and surrounding area look very much like your drawing. You’ve provided the techniques I’ll need to have fun using my environment as a resource. I’m really enjoying working with charcoal…your channel is so helpful! Thank you again!

Wow… I just tuned in for the first time, bc I’m wanting to sketch a pic of my friend sitting at night on a bank looking across the river at the town’s time clock . I typed “ night” and “ charcoal” and found YOU !! Honey… you’re fantastic !

Thanks for a great drawing! I decided to follow along, tho I used graphite because I don't work in charcoal. I began to envy the soft effect you get from smudged charcoal, but will resist temptation! I made a commitment to stay with graphite and colored pencil a long time ago, because my eye is easily caught by any shiny new object! I decided to follow along because I am trying to learn to draw realistic foliage without drawing every leaf. I got a lot out of this drawing. It was just what I needed. Thanks! 😀-Deb

Graphite has its advantages. If you prefer it keep at it, but it definitely requires a more patient artist than with charcoal.

I would love to see a forest scene like this in colored pencil, if you can get together the patience to do it, lol!

Fantastic drawing! Is it regular paper you use to lay you hand on while drawing?
@MiroslavSunjkic5 ай бұрын
@@Samoth666metal something smoother that doesn't smudge is good but regular paper will do most of the time.

Hello, love all your portraits and trees, and am making it through all and studying from you. Love your work!! I would like to know the best paper for charcoal? Mine seems to be to rough. I heard you say it, but didn’t catch the name/type paper here. I think I need smooth to get the fine details in portraits? Thanks again so much!

I don't really have a favorite. I just prefer thicker paper 200g or so.
