Good to see you back in the saddle. This promises to be a great series. I loved my time cycling in Taiwan in 2018 for only 3 weeks. I rode south from Taipei into the central mountains then down the simply stunning Taroko Gorge to Hualien on the east coast. The longest and steepest descent I have ever done. Also Yangmingshan NP in the north a very steep climb up and again fantastic views and descent to the north coast. Taipei is a mindblowingly big city and Taipei 101 is a must visit. There are beautiful temples in Taiwan. Everyone was so friendly. The cycling infrastructure is pretty good. Taiwan is the bicycle manufacturing capital of the world. Most bikes are made there, including Surly bikes. Made in Taiwan is a badge of quality.

We are loving it so far I can't wait until we get to the East Coast. The plan is to get the legs warmed up on the West side before heading that way.

@@BuffertheTourist A wise plan. However I was told and have seen in other YT vids that the West side of the island is heavily built on and lots of industry. Didn't appeal to me so I headed straight to the hills, but I was pretty fit 6-7 years ago, not so now, so would probably do the same as you. Have a great ride.

The best months for cycling Taiwan would be any month other than June, July, and August. The temperature in summer is too hot…Hope you guys enjoy your trip.

Cycling round Taiwan is really fun and amazing experience :) Sometimes the cars and scooters are dangerous, just watch out and ride carefully is ok. GOGOGO.

It’s so hot in summer, make sure of drinking enough water. For compensating le suffer of heat, eat our local fruits, they are the best in the world ❤ Watermelon, lychee, mango, pineapple 😋😋😋

If your water bottle is empty, always go to the police station . You can have free water in the police station.
