Yeah, kind of similar. I can’t really compare this crossing (in night mode) with another crossing though.

The alarm on the first closure sounds a bit like Lincoln night mode

Sad how the chirp at the end is gone
@FlashingRedProductions4 жыл бұрын
I suppose it is to be honest... 😕 The reason why that it did that chirp (or what I like to call the ‘tailring malfunction’) was because the barrier on the southbound side was slower going up than the other one, which caused the red lights and alarms to briefly reactivate again until it was in the fully raised position. However, that barrier has since been sped up so now both barriers are up at roughly the same time.

Wasn’t expecting it to have night mode! Nice catch!

I’m pretty sure at least 90% of UK crossings have night mode. 🤣🤣 Thanks anyway! 😁👍
@harrywheeler16334 жыл бұрын
Oh, right! 🤣🤣 It’s just, there aren’t any houses near this crossing (or next to it to be precise.) so I didn’t expect the alarms to go quieter during night
@FlashingRedProductions4 жыл бұрын
Well, obviously they’re quite loud during the day, and if this crossing didn’t have a night mode then the alarms would still be heard quite clearly from up to nearly half a mile away, especially since it’s quite an open and rural location, so it still makes somewhat sense to have a night mode, lol.
@harrywheeler16334 жыл бұрын
Actually, yeah I guess, lol. I wonder if my local crossing has a night mode, it’s quiet enough in the day. Brayford has a night mode, and that’s quiet enough already.

Very nice videos! It sounds quite interesting in night mode ngl! Though I think it still sounds way better in day mode if you ask me! 😁

Thanks Caleb! 👍😁 The faster alarm sounded like how I expected it to sound in night mode, but the other one sounded more lower pitched than I expected.

Nice catch Will, haven’t heard this in night mode before

Thanks Dave. 😁👍 This is the first time I’ve heard this crossing in night mode (in person). There’s a video taken at this crossing in June 2008 (when it still had that older Yodalarm) of a Deltic and the alarms were in night mode then.

Will Scriven Have you ever heard of Blackwell, i’ve just been there to catch a shed on a steel train

CD Trains Yeah, I’ve heard of Blackwell, only because it’s at the top of the Lickey incline lol.

Not only is it a Rail(way) crossing, it's also a "Trains" crossing.

The older alarm sounds dodgy in night mode (6:27), the newer alarm in night mode sounds nice (2:27)
@FlashingRedProductions4 жыл бұрын
The older alarm could be worse I suppose. I do like the alarm combination though, both in day and night mode. 🙂

If anyone lives by the crossing fair enough, but i really see no point of night mode on a crossing in the middle of nowhere.
@FlashingRedProductions3 ай бұрын
There are a couple of houses within a quarter of a mile from the crossing though, and the alarms are quite loud during the day and can be heard from about a quarter of mile away.
