Congrats! Got mine about a year ago on a random nothing day sailing with my friend. There was another crew not far off from us when we heard the new music and they clearly were new as they saw the meg and turned away. I was on the megaphone yelling "You REALLY want to get in on this!" as they turned lol. Hope they never read this to know what they missed

I never knew Ancient Skelly's were so rare. I've ran into about 5 of them since Day 1, but never had the opportunity to kill single one because they ran away too fast or I would get blown up by a keg. -_- I feel truly ill-fated now knowing they are so rare.

Even rarer than seeing the shrouded ghost this season was seein any meg actually damage a ship. I've played for over 100 hours in just this season alone and have fought countless megs, all of which never even went for a charge.

I first downloaded the game a month ago. The first meg I encountered I got very scared as I was solo slooping cuz my teammate left so I ran. I got some hours in and encountered another one except this one was white. I decided to fight and killed it got nothing good and was so disappointed until I learned it’s the rarest one.

idk if someone told you this but if you´re doing a merchant run and got plants as cargo, make a little pool of water in the lower deck and put the plants it, your ship will creak but you don´t have to manually water em

Thanks for looking out, however as a personal preference, I don't use it, and I'll explain why for any curious viewers reading (anyone not interested should stop reading here): Sea of Thieves is a game where (most) people weigh risk vs. reward, and as a solo Sloop Merchant, not only should you only ever need to water your plants *once per trip,* but it also takes about 5 seconds to scoop the minimum-possible amount of water from the stairs onto the plants; since the water doesn't get consumed (unlike when dousing fire), you can leisurely recycle that single initial-bucketed minimum amount of water from the stairs over and over, store it in your bucket when finished (leaving your ship nice 'n dry), and _you're doing this during transit._ *You're not losing any time, nor do you gain any time by using the flooded-lower-deck strat.* What the lower-deck strat _does carry the potential of_ (albeit minorly) is increasing the risk of *things going wrong faster,* since you need _more_ than the minimum-possible amount of water below deck in order to automatically water plants (typically up to the colored line on the crate). Especially now in Season 11 where ships (both skelly and player) pop up like mad, whether you're in the Devil's Roar or not, a higher water level carries a non-zero increase in risk, should any unexpected things happen. - I, _personally,_ like to keep risks on my cargo runs as low as possible, especially if said risk saves me absolutely no time since I'm always in transit. *But that is just me, and my personal preference.* TLDNR: It's all preference, strat is utterly valid if you hate manual labor while sailing, but *you don't gain any time by flooding your lower deck* nor do you lose time by recycling a single bucket of water, and there's a small-but-definite increase in risk by having more water below deck at any time. No joke though, I coincidentally watched the flooded-lower-deck strat sink an overwhelmed solo Slooper this morning who got popped up on in the Roar! - Constantly minimizing cargo risk is why people like me have more gold, more commendations, and over 4 million more Merchant points than him this month... Divine timing on this comment though, I love how fellow sailors are always passing tips & tricks to each other!

i just stop the ship, without the anchor, and then turn the wheel so your ship spins around, you can adjust and follow the meg as it spins around the boat and just hit him with cannon shots

So here's my official advice, since it sounds like you might be experiencing the same issue I did: Wait about 3 days, see if it populates. - If it doesn't, make sure you're wearing that Title so there's absolute proof that you have done it, and toss Support a Ticket on the SoT website regarding in-game rewards, and explain to them that you waited 3 days while wearing the Title but the Figurehead still hasn't populated. Additionally, if you have any video footage like I did, or even a screenshot of the moment, it probably doesn't hurt to supply them with a link to it in the Ticket. - They should escalate your ticket for investigation on their end, and once they've confirmed it (it could take a day or two), they'll ensure it gets delivered to you.

I had my chance and I missed it… Was playing with a random crew on a brig and was feeling really tired after we had done like 5 of those Grindy thieves haven runs for the outfit. I left after 5 hours of play time. The next day, I got on at the same time, met one of those guys from the same brig I sailed on the night before. They sailed up to my ship and after noticing me they excitedly claimed they got the shrouded ghost just an hour after I left. I called them a liar and they put on the title and they also had the figure head on I had failed to notice as they rolled up. So yeah, that was my chance, and if I had just pushed through the bad feeling, I would have gotten it 😭

You'll get 'em next time; in all honesty, as someone who regularly does 8 hour sessions of SoT at a time, *_and never intentionally hunted for_* the Shrouded Ghost... Taking a break is massively important. Be it a 15 minute walk and drinking some water, or a full 8 hours of sleep; totally worth it. It'll swim up on you some day.

Aye, probably the same advice you'd find anywhere else, but take down every skelly ship/ship battle server event you see. Back in the day, checking every shipwreck you saw was also worth it since you'd leave with at least one barnacled chest... But with the newer high value loot being in every shipwreck now, I can't rightly attest to how beneficial it may currently be. I'll look into it. - That said, I'd still encourage checking shipwrecks due to the aforementioned loot, as well as some pretty passive gains in the Fishing Commendation department! All that aside, it really is just a matter of time. Some days I just sail the sea for the sake of being out on the (virtual) water, and before I know it I've found some noteworthy treasure; if it's something that progresses a Commendation, even if it's just one piece of loot, I'll head to port and turn it in to guarantee progress for the day. May the winds be in your favor!

Dude i'm so glad you got it!! I haven't killed a meg in over a year, i keep getting what i think is a bug where the meg keeps circling, won't attack no matter how many cannonballs i put into it and then it ends by the attack music starting amd the meg attacking under my ship amd then despawning

I do notice them doing that more often if you sail too close to multiple islands, especially the constant music until suddenly you hear the attack music, at which point they despawn. Good luck landing some out there!

The giant shark is a megaladon encounter, this white one though is a super rare variant that most people have never encountered, there are 5 types of meg.

(Copying my reply to another Captain with the same issue; seems like you've already waited at least 3 days so no need to wait any longer) So here's my official advice, since it sounds like you might be experiencing the same issue I did: Wait about 3 days, see if it populates. - If it doesn't, make sure you're wearing that Title so there's absolute proof that you have done it, and toss Support a Ticket on the SoT website regarding in-game rewards, and explain to them that you waited 3 days while wearing the Title but the Figurehead still hasn't populated. Additionally, if you have any video footage like I did, or even a screenshot of the moment, it probably doesn't hurt to supply them with a link to it in the Ticket. - They should escalate your ticket for investigation on their end, and once they've confirmed it (it could take a day or two), they'll ensure it gets delivered to you.
