Power ballad doesnt have to be about romantic love. Kix had a power ballad called "Dont Close Your Eyes" which taps around a young girl contemplating taking her own life. Super powerful song. Also, both Don Henley of The Eagles and Phil Collins of Genesis were drummers and singers.

This song was written by the Dummer about his sister Christy except they changed it to Christian .

In the movie 🎥 Boogie Nights 🌙 many years after the 1st release of the song. Written by Kelly Keagy. He sings lead vocal in this song 🎵 and plays drums 🥁. Jack Blades on bass guitar 🎸. They were in the band Rubicon. Jeff Watson was in Alameda All Stars 🌟. Brad Gillis was the successor to the late Randy Rhodes. Alan Fitzgerald was in Montrose. (Sammy Hagar left Montrose to go solo. Denny Carmassi, drums 🥁, left to join Heart.) Keagy, Blades, Gillis, Watson and Fitzgerald formed Night Ranger 🌙 45 years ago 🎂 in my hometown San Francisco 🌉. I watched all of these bands then. A band from my hometown of San Francisco. I saw them once in 1983 at a long-running concert series in the Bay Area called "Day on the Green". It was a day of popular bands at the Oakland Coliseum. Journey, Eddie Money, Bryan Adams and Triumph were also on the bill that day.

It's a great sounding song. I never knew what it was about, and I didn't get what the lyrics, especially in the chorus. I always think of "Motor Inn, What's your price per night?". As far as you not hearing of drummer being the singer, check out Revolution Saints, which Jack Blades of Night Ranger was in, for the first 3 albums. The lead singer has a great voice. He can also sing like Steve Perry. And he was in Journey, for a while. The song, "Back On My Trail" is a good one to start with.

Night Ranger drummer was not the main lead singer. Jack Blades was the main singer. Jack later joined the super group Damn Yankees for a while with the Motor City Madman Ted Nugent, and Tommy Shaw (Styx). Give "Don't Tell Me You Love Me" a reaction if you want another good Night Ranger song.

Some of this video was filmed at San Rafael High School (the home of 420) in 1984. I was a Freshman and my classmates and I watched some of it from our 2nd floor typing class. That's right I said typing class!

Great song ! When it was used in the Boogie Nights movie , marky mark was going to rob a coke dealer and the dealer and the thieves were so gacked out on blow it was crazy!!The anticipation was so thick I felt like I was geeked out myself and had to take 1/2 a Xanax !! lol! This song is special between my big brother and I ..... 15 yrs old at my brother's and he played this song and told me to listen. He is 11 years older than me and was very protective as I grew up and still is even in our 50's and 60's. He will always be one of my heroes
