The “genarts sapphire” plugin pack for AE has a one click solution for creating twinkling stars, the effect called S_NightSky. With that tool you can achieve much more better look.

Why isnt that path tool automatically showing when i move my circle object to make the shooting star? do i not have something selected in the menu somewhere?
@AugustusHinton4 жыл бұрын
Sometimes when a path isn't showing up it's because of the "Toggle Mask and Shape Path Visibility" button in the bottom of your composition window. It looks like a rectangle with a corner missing. Try toggling that!

hey, i got the 2020 version of after effects and don't have the add mode at 3:55, any suggestions for that?
@AugustusHinton4 жыл бұрын
Screen or lighten or overlay will do something similar in place of Add.
@NekoreoGolden5 жыл бұрын
I'll try it! ^_^

3:55 When I set the mode to "Add", the stars turn blue, but the black background stays.

Maybe you can help me. I am trying to figure out how to take a star field such as this one and make all the stars align to form a person. How would I do this in After effects? And how could I give the stars color? Any tips/advice is highly welcomed!
@AugustusHinton6 жыл бұрын
Hi there! So do you want the stars to move to form a person? Or just have them appear to reveal a person?

Hi Augustus! I'm brand new to Ae and was hoping you could clear something up for me. I'm at the part where you mention "keyframing the evolution" (4:30 or so) and I was wondering which buttons you clicked to apply the evolution rotations to the stars. Absolutely loving the tutorial so far!!
