It's absolutely the light pollution that's not letting you the building at 400m, man I hate light pollution. Also, speaking of the clouds (and I'm not trying to give you any ideas) but have you ever thought about getting a laser? Touching the clouds with a laser is something I really wanna try

@@sami-faisal under perfect conditions i don’t see why not. ANSI FL1 standard defines beam distance as the distance at which the flashlight's beam produces 0.25 lux of illuminance. this is a very low level of light, roughly equivalent to the light of a full moon so as long as you realize that that metric (for all flashlights) is one quarter lux at that distance it doesn’t seem far fetched to me. but it just means that photons get there, but, not enough of them to actually make useful illumination, mind you as a somewhat course estimate of actual usable distance we generally half that figure
