Adventures In Beekeeping

Күн бұрын

Welcome to Adventures in Beekeeping! I'm Dale, and today, I'm sharing some intriguing footage from my hidden meadow bee yard. Recently, my security camera captured unexpected nighttime visitors-including some curious animals and maybe even a few surprise human guests! Watch along to see what (or who!) has been dropping by after dark.
Thanks for joining me on this journey, and don't forget to like, comment, and subscribe for more adventures. God bless, and have a wonderful day!

That kid shining a light on the hive is good way for him to get a face full of bees.

Early in my beekeeping days, I moved a couple of hives at night and used bright lights from the truck and other area lights. The bees were not happy at all. I learned from that experience. LOL... Thanks for watching. God bless and have a great day.

@@adventuresinbeekeeping7590 You know there's not a lot of videos on how to move bees properly with trucks or trailers. That's something I worry about. A few years ago a semi went through my state and wrecked with like a hundred beehives on it or something and it was a TOTAL freaking mess. Made the TV news also.

@@candlelightbeesgardeningbob binnie, a north American beekeeper, has a few good ones. Apparently he got a visit from the sheriff's department one night because people were freaking out about the red lights and the truck noises as he moved a apairy at night😂

That was fun! So glad the skater didn't get some response with his white light. Seemed respectful, maybe a future beekeeper :) All the best!

I hope that he does get into beekeeping. He seems like a nice guy. I do not know who he is but I will keep an eye out for him so we can talk about his interest in bees. Thanks for watching. Looking forward to seeing you at NAHBE. God bless and have a great day.

Yeah that's interesting. I wonder what he was thinking. Probably he was interested on some level. And he didn't try to do any harm. Beehives are neat to see. But I have tested night reactions of beehives and you CAN get lit up pretty good doing that at night. They act VERY different at night.

Yeah the skateboard kid was odd😂 obviously curious but asking for trouble with the bright white light😂 nothing like a facefull of angry guard bees at night, ive had it doing night oxalic acid vapour treatment when id forgotten to charge my redlight torches and had to use a white light headtorch😂

I am glad he did not get stung... "night oxalic acid vapour treatment". I had not thought of that. All of the bees would be home in the box and all would get the treatment. I will have to think about trying that. Thanks for watching. God bless and have a great day!

@adventuresinbeekeeping7590 yeah it's more effective but just make sure you don't use white light, it doesn't end well 😅

@@candlelightbeesgardening Yes and this bee yard is called Hidden Meadow, because it is an acre of unused land in the middle of greater Cincinnati. We see several deer around our house which is about a mile away from here. Thanks for watching and subscribing...

I zoomed way in on the skate board and it seems that maybe he has a bee on the bottom of his skate board. I think his intention was to say, "I like bees, I am just looking". And the wave at the end was "Thank you". Thanks for watching. God bless and have a great day.

@@adventuresinbeekeeping7590 No, but there´s something interesting to talk about. Here we have "Jataí bees" ( Tetragonisca angustula ) and when trekking in the mountais sometimes you meet then, and they come to lick you to get some salt from your transpiration. After a short time you get accustomed and become friends.

He took some pictures and he's gonna make a fake story telling how incredible, how shocked we're gonna be to an impossible thing that happened to the bees and make a profit out of it.

I am not sure.... Not likely there would be sugar there in the summer. I may have spilled a bit of sugar syrup. I think it is interesting that the fox and the buck went to the same place by the one hive. Thanks for watching. God bless and have a great day.

It is Reolink Go PT Plus with Reolink Solar Panel. It is 4MP and the wireless is 4G LTE cellular. It requires a cell data plan. I choose the cell version because it is not near my house and there is no wifi there. Reolink has even better ones now for less than I paid a couple years ago. Check them out at Reolink.com... Thanks for watching.
