I had this same model for the 2023 winter season. Tried it twice on different snowy nights, fell out twice each time and I was, sadly, stone cold bloomin sober. It was eBay bound shortly thereafter.

Yeah this model just ain't right, I do believe that with further modifications from the manufacturers it will make a good flat hammock, should this be the case I will definitely be trying it stone cold sober 🤣 thanks for watching, it's really appreciated, atb Paul 🙏🏕🏕🏕😁

Hello from Canada. Enjoyed your video! Happy 50th🎉🎉🎉 I had the same problem with mine...I woke up halfway through the night to find myself sleeping totally off the flat bottom to sleeping in the bug mesh side only. Thank goodness it didn't rip but then I couldn't relax enough to fall asleep after that. I sent it back. These hammocks are not cheap so I was expecting a whole lot more from them!! Very disappointed!!😢😢😢

Oh wow, all the way from Canada, that's awesome 💙 the hammock is a great concept, but definitely needs more work to make it fully usable, with a bit of luck they will work on a better v2. Thanks for watching and commenting, it's really appreciated, atb Paul 🙏 🏕 🏕🏕😁

I saw in another video the tester said you need to wrap the strap around the tree for at least one full loop to reduce the side swing. I am also wondering if you can tie the strap to 2 strong stakes nailed into the ground. Those 2 stakes can be many feet apart to the effect of an ultra wide tree, even wider than the width of the hammock.
@ACumbrianladoutdoorsАй бұрын
Two interesting points, the strong stakes would definitely work I think, thanks very much for watching and commenting, it's really appreciated, atb Paul 🙏🏕🏕🏕😁

Hi bud , just came across your vid of the night cat lay flat hammock. I tried mine out this weekend and I totally agree with your review and comments on this thing. Belive me , it wasn't because you had a drink , it is naturally very unstable. In my vid I commented that you only had to twitch and you would capsize. Great vid , keep going 👍👍
@ACumbrianladoutdoors2 ай бұрын
Cheers buddy, yeah it's unstable for sure, but I think if you put the straps around a wide tree that would definitely help, to be fair to nightcat it's a great concept, it just needs a bit of work to make it more usable 👍 thanks for watching and commenting, it's really appreciated 🙏 atb Paul 🙏 🏕 🏕🏕😁

@ACumbrianladoutdoors just to add, the Trees I used were alot thicker than the ones in your vid. Yes great concept, but needs an upgrade , Stay Safe. I'm 50 same as you , stay strong dude 👍

The hammock wasn’t set up right, it’s impossible to flip if put up properly. Hammock was too high, stability straps weren’t at a steep enough angle and they were no where near taut enough. Night cat doesn’t need to address anything, it’s a good design, this is a case of user error.
@ACumbrianladoutdoorsАй бұрын
The height of the hammock makes absolutely ZERO difference to the stability, it was at a height comfortable to me. The stability straps were as steep as I could get them, and as tight as I could get them, and I'm no weakling! I am 99% sure that the trees need to be a certain width to create stability with this design of hammock, I have had many messages from people saying they have had similar experiences. I am open to the fact I may have not set it up perfect, but as a hammocker of many many many years experience this design is most definitely flawed, and if I'm right nightcat should state a certain tree width for use.

glad you had a goodnight with lads to celebrate your 5oth , shame the hammock didnt go to plan , lets hope nitecat take another look at it and listen to your comments and others and try to sort the problem out , it does look like a good bit of kit otherwise , looking forward to your next video mate

Cheers buddy 😁 it definitely didn't go to plan, but that hammock definitely has potential, and hopefully Nightcat do listen like you say. Glad you enjoyed it matey, catch you soon, atb Paul 🙏 🏕🏕🏕😁

You're best to cross the straps for the lowers. Go 'round the tree once to give equal ends, Instead of left to.left and right to right, go left to right, and right to left. Pull tight. Edit: Think safety chains on a trailer/caravan, always crossed over, never parallel straight.
@ACumbrianladoutdoors2 ай бұрын
Thanks for the advice buddy, I'll try that next time, never thought of that 👍 atb Paul 🙏 🏕🏕🏕😁

I'm astonished that anyone would buy this piece of trash in the first place. If you apply some common sense its pretty obvious why the design of this monstrosity is notoriously unstable.

@@ACumbrianladoutdoors The way they designed it (high centre of mass close to the straps, thus tipping point is triggered easily by user) insinuates that this company has not a single engineer in their workforce
