Oh no, you got it wrong. He wasnt my best friend back then. He was my rival in everything, I just gave up because I knew I wasnt good enough, I know my own boundaries. I'd rather give the girl I like to someone more capable, I mean he was a soccer captain. Cried 2 months on my bed straight, lol. But I find myself more independent after that, I dont need any more words of encouragement. When you get in that type of predicament when your step dad is abusive, it changes you. You start to doubt everything that happens to you. You start to wonder why you won something. You start thinking every win has a backlash, every win will result in 10 losses. I think that that is the point. Have you ever seen the sun? As pretty as it is for as long as you can stand it, in the end it leaves you with your eyes burning.
