Interestingly, of the small group, Kurapika is the only real combat-proficient character. Gon takes leaps and bounds through persistence and focus, but is not experienced enough to make his movements fluid. Killua is definitely dangerous, and his learning is definitely more finessed than Gon's, but he is still inexperienced. Leorio isn't a combatant whatsoever, so he uses his sensibilities and genius (despite the personality) to get him by. Kurapika has been fighting almost his entire life, and is part of a nearly-dead breed of powerful beings. On the run and constantly pushing himself, he's the most powerful of the 4 in overall balance of combat, experience, and intellect... But yet he still maintains a kind and composed personality... Crimson Eyes for the win!!! :)
