just saw an add that said 70 percent of jewish people faced anti-Semitism online last year... I'm honestly fairly sure that the hate I face just for being a white dude monthly can just about make up for around 10% of the total hate jewish people face yearly, considering that the whole "70% per year" implies that only 70 percent of jewish people have to face anti-semitism once a year. do you know how happy that'd make me? I'd see someone calling me white trailer trash and have a good ol laugh and say "damn, what a tough year that was." and just rest easy for the rest of the year knowing that statistically it just aint gonna happen again. I get that maybe just maybe that 70 percent actually faces like more than one instance of it, and that maybe even in the most extreme cases, they aren't just sounding the air raid siren over some spilled milk, but they have quite the reputation for instantly destroying peoples entire lives and or careers over even a brief comedic implied remark related to anti-semitism, every other race has reactions varying between robbing you or giving you a black eye, or just laughing their arses off, but why do they specifically have to make such a big deal of it? do you know how much sh*t I'd get trying to make any kind of a big deal out of how much racism I could face on any given day whether it be online or in person? not only would I be called a whining little racist b*tch full of "white privilege" while recieving numerous death threats through every mode of online connection, but I'm almost certain that any amount of escalation there would quickly lead to me getting killed by someone with a grudge, and my death being celebrated on the news as an act of heroism from the shadows or some such. now, I'm not playing a victim here, I really don't care about my situation related to racism, like most other white dudes I actually find it pretty entertaining when people just start pulling insults out of their arse for some weird reason, and I guess it just rarely ever escalates to violence because there's just so many of use that you'd have to be attacking every other person you saw if you were really just that racist, and most of us just don't care, but I am a bit annoyed when I see other people complaining about something which doesn't even seem like a big deal. like they expect you to look at that and say "OMG 70 PERCENT OF JEWISH PEOPLE SAW RACISM LAST YEAR?!?! HOW DARE RACISM EXIST BEFORE THE EYES OF THOSE CHARMING BABIES!!", maybe it actually is a big deal, and they're just doing an absolutely terrible job of showing that, but from their add it certainly doesn't look that way, like yknow if you're trying to raise awareness then you should really try to do so in the advertisement itself, nobody is gonna react to the fact that racism exists on earth, you gotta show them how prevalent it is, and not just say that a good few people saw at least one instance of racism over the past 365 days of living in the hostile environment that is the internet. obviously I have nothing against Jewish people, but I am a bit annoyed by how they worded that advertisement, like they didn't put any effort into it because they knew they didn't have to or something.
