Blue Exorcist. And yeah, a lot of fictional heroes have a dark inner self that they have to battle and eventually accept. It's pretty common. Rin has his satanic powers, Naruto has the Kyuubi, Harry Potter has the scar/horcrux, etc.

No; that's normal. Most people go through a period of finding their identity around puberty, and social pressures to fit in can be overwhelming. It can be scary to bare your inner self to others- what if they judge you? Hate you? But luckily, most of us don't have any actual monster inside, just a vulnerable human who wants appreciation and validation. It's all about finding the people who you can trust with who you are, and accepting yourself as well.
