this song is basically just a reference to his poem "Never more" about a man screaming at a raven after his wife died trying to find some comfort in understanding why he's there just for the raven to constantly respond by saying "never more". The point being that the only way to cope with his lost is to accept that shes gone and he'll never see her again as a ghost, a vision, or a raven. He has to accept the cold reality and not look to escape it if hes ever going to move on
