I like how the lyrics for the song show before they say it so u have enough time to read it and sing at the right time. A lot of nightcore videos don’t do that, so this is really convenient for me

I never knew how much I needed this song. When I was younger, I used to write lyrics to songs on paper, and my mom saw these lyrics. I literally got grounded for so long. after remembering that memory, I decided to come back to this song. Best decision I ever made.

The character's name is Enkidu, in both Fate's lore and the real life myth, he has a friend who is Gilgamesh, who had told him: "You're not a weapon of the gods, you're my friend." And I swear this fit the lyrics so much

The Epic of Gilgamesh is a pretty short story, but considering it's possibly the oldest myth ever told, that alone I think makes it required reading. But it's also, just a great story. What the tavern woman says to Gilgamesh in the end is perhaps one of the more impactful lines of any story I've listened to, and it's over 3,000 years old. The epic of Gilgamesh, at it's core, deals with friendship, humility, personal growth, loyalty, dealing with the fear of death, and learning to accept mortality. Enkidu was created as a weapon of the gods, to punish Gilgamesh for being a wicked and tyrannical king. When Enkidu came down from heaven to earth, Gilgamesh sent out a priestess to "tame" him. She showed Enkidu the pleasures of the human flesh, and taught him language. After several days, Enkidu had been "tamed" and the animals of the forest shied away from him as they would any other human. She took him into the city to meet with king Gilgamesh, but on the way there, Enkidu passed by the marriage ceremony of a couple in the city, where Gilgamesh was attempting to rape the new wife by right of law. (His law). Enkidu stepped in and accused Gilgamesh of being evil, vowing to stop him from committing such a wicked sin. The two then would clash and fight a fierce brawl for seven days straight. In the end, the two had become close friends, Gilgamesh forgot about the woman and mellowed out somewhat. The two would go on adventures together and become quite close. Many interpretations attempt to claim they were gay for eachother, but that's just a mix of wishing, anachronism, and a shallow understanding of the concept of "love" in my opinion. Eventually they would go to steal a fruit from a tree of the gods, and run in to the demon Umbaba. Forced to kill Umbaba, in his dying breathe he cursed one of them to die. Later, the gods sent the bull of heaven to wreak chaos on Uruk for Gilgamesh and Enkidu's actions, and together they slew the bull to save their people. For helping Gilgamesh to kill the bull of heaven, the gods handed down their punishment, and took back the life they gave Enkidu, causing him to fall ill and die in Gilgamesh's arms. Gilgamesh would fall into a terrible depression at this, for the loss of his friend. But also harbor a deep terror in his heart, because for the first time in his life he too feared death. Gilgamesh would set out on a long journey to discover a means to gain eternal life, so he would never need to fear dying. The king would travel far and be told of an herb deep in the sea that could give him eternal life. With his one and only chance, Gilgamesh pursued the herb and had it. But as he went to bathe himself after his trials, a serpent slithered up to his belongings, and ate the herb. When Gilgamesh returned from bathing, he found the herb he sought so hard, gone. And beside where it had lay, the discarded skin of the first snake to ever shed. Gilgamesh realized then, that no mortal man could ever escape death, and his journey had been in vain. He returned to Uruk soon after, where the most impactful line in fiction was said: "Gilgamesh, where are you hurrying to? You will never find that which you seek. When the gods created man, they allotted to him death, but life they retained for their own keeping. As for you Gilgamesh, fill your belly with good things; day and night, night and day. Dance and be merry, feast and rejoice. Let your clothes be fresh, bathe yourself in water, cherish the little child that holds your hand, and make your wife happy in your embrace; for this too is the lot of men." We all will die one day. But until then, live your life fully, enjoy the simple joys that make it worth living. The epic Gilgamesh.
