"what went wrong?" she asked herself. she looked down at the tall hill. memories flooding her mind. in the summer, the two would roll down the hill, in the winter, they'd sled. a gentle breeze sent leaves spinning past her. the trees behind her rustled, as she looked towards them, she thought she saw her friends shadow. "no," she told herself, "you won't see them again." tears rolled down her face, but she wiped them away. "they wouldn't want me to cry over them" she looked at the sky, as it turned pink and lilac with the setting sun. she wondered if her friend was watching her from up in the cloudy sky. she sings a song to herself, and writes it down, years later, she releases that song, for anyone who had lost a friend. she never forgot her friend, who had lost their life in a house fire. they still live on through her memory of them, and the lives they'd touched. never forget those who have passed, but don't stay sad over their loss forever, and live your life looking to the future, and all the good things to come, for them, and for yourself.
