Fun fact, you can use aviation weather sources to find out how high the cloud tops are. This way you don't have to lug it outside on what could be a bad night (high clouds) to try this.

@@ChamaraVFX probably not, especially if you added vents to pull air past the LCD. Having said that, that's one of the main reasons why so many large format digital projection systems use DLP chips instead.

Anyone on the other side of the clouds won't see anything. The light is being absorbed and reflected by the clouds which is why you see the "image" on them. It doesn't penetrate through. Same reason you don't see the sun or sunlight through clouds..

I just use an array of 9, 100W LED modules(On a big heatsink) running off an old server PSU. Not quite Tesla500's 1500kW LED water arrays that you can cook a pizza using, but it works for me and without the limitations of battery.

I'll check your channel to see when you get some clouds. I have had zero luck even with clouds (seemingly) close overhead. Just sort of makes the cloud glow a bit but no image. Good image on rice silo several hundred yards away.

I love it! There's a lot of light leaking out of the flashlight end. If you had more reflective surfaces keeping all the light inside and only letting it go out through around the symbol, you might get even better performance.
