Monbergdk1 I'm playing an Inquisitor who gets things done but with a sense of compassion, so I told her to get rid of whatshisface all the way back at Haven and then when her personal quest happened and I told her to let it go, she recited my order 72 hours back. I love this game.

Leliana's development as a character makes me so sad. She is so unhappy, lost and disconnected from her own self. She has come a long way from being a bard... And on top of all, my Warden is too far away to give her hugs and kisses *sigh*.

Awgieable I believe she is unhappy. She has grown up to be a person who believes that the means justify the end. She has become cold, less sympathetic, less trusting. Her faith is completely shaken. She doesn't see the Maker or Andraste with the same joyful eyes. Now she believes the Maker to be detached from humanity. She is very angry when you first talk to her about this. She doesn't enjoy other people's company anymore. She prefers to be in her own little space. Josephine makes a reference to this, saying that the Leliana she knew is not the same, and she sees the change in her and that she doesn't seem happy. Justinia died. She was a friend, a mentor, she was everything to Leliana. She would have given everything and anything for Dorothea. She is bitter at times when you speak of the Divine. This has shaken her faith even more, and she has lost probably the most important person in her life. In my playthrough, I also see Leliana as someone who is sad because she romanced my Warden. Now she is far away, she doesn't know if she'll see her again and she's worried sick over how she is and if she is *spoiler* affected by Corypheus. To have no clue how the love of your life is, where she is and to ache to be with her must be horrible. Especially considering Leliana now has two or three close friends and trusts nobody else. Add to this that the Warden may have died. That affects Leliana terribly. And *spoiler again* the Warden does ask you to help her see light again if she loses herself. Which I believe if you don't soften her, she does. If you soften her, she tells you about how she felt she was lost. She thanks you for helping her see that mercy is not something for the weak. For someone who was so merciful to change so suddenly, I don't think that is possitive. And oah, this is a big reply. But yeah, I agree with you that she has grown up and that now she is more tough and she won't let herself be affected so much by everything. Yet I do see her as unhappy. Strong, but unhappy.

Awgieable Yeah, it's great when you get to have a polite conversation with someone. They are a bit rare on KZbin nowadays! I guess from the perspective of someone who gives importance to reality and survival, she has evolved possitively. I agree with you that she was too innocent in Origins. She certainly is not an innocent little girl anymore, but I also believe that she has no idea what to believe, where to go or what to do. She seems too lost. I see a woman who doesn't trust anyone, who doesn't talk to people as much, who has lost interest in singing and in stories and who will tear anyone appart if that is what it takes for the greater good. I don't believe you can be too happy if you have to live with eyes on the back of your head. And oops, I did say that the change was sudden. Yet from Origins to Inquisition it has been 10 years :/ that slipped my mind completely. I guess she's evolved throughout those years. The only thing that was sudden was the Divine's death, which probably helped her new personality gain force. And hey, no need to apologize! I love debating Dragon Age stuff, I must admitt I am a bit addicted to the game. And if you hadn't said anything I would have mistaken you for a native speaker of English. I must confess I too am in need of practicing it, it's not my strongest language =)

Awgieable You know, I don't know if I prefer Morrigan or Leliana. Both of them are so well written and go through such changes. Who would've thought Morrigan would be such a great mother? If anyone claimed she would be before Inquisition, they surely were laughed at. I was following the Dragon Age Ultimate Party thingy (have you heard about it? If not, you should definetely check it out on Bioware's official twitter) and was a bit sad about Leliana not winning. People seem to be suckers for Morrigan, though. I always thought everyone hated her, it certainly was always me defending her against people who did not like her one bit. Just curious, who is your favorite character? If you had to chose one. If you struggle too hard, I'll let you pick three. Kind of like what Bioware made us do with the Ultimate Party thing. And I hope Leliana sings. And gets reunited with the Warden. If that happens, I will die out of happiness. Unless something horrible happens. Then I will die out of sadness! Maybe they will reunite in a DLC or something. Which reminds me, DLC coming soon! I can't wait to see the trailer. And as for my languages, I'm actually Spanish! Born and raised in Barcelona. So my strongest language is Spanish, the one I use with my mother and closest friends. My other two mother tongues are Catalan and English. Catalan I can speak with anyone (it's the official language in the part of Spain where I live in). The problem is English. Nobody speaks English in Spain, so I depend on the Internet to practice and pounce on every opportunity I get to practice it. Where are you from? Are you sure your English is rusty? Because it looks perfect to me! You are being pretty humble yourself! And I almost posted the comment without answering your last question. It's a tough one... Awgieable Glad to share Dragon Age knowledge! Now you know about the Ultimate Party. I am dead curious what they are going to do exactly. I thought the idea was to take the Warden/Hawke/Inquisitor in a situation they had already lived with characters that hadn't seen it. But the Warden, Alistair and Morrigan were together, so that won't be it. So angry at the Varric lovers still, I'm tellin' ya. I actually voted Warden, Leliana, Morrigan and Cassandra. At least Morrigan and the Warden are in it, that will be fun. I don't know which Morrigan though. I don't mind Varric, I think he's a nice guy and a great friend. I always liked how in Dragon Age II Hawke would be sassy at times and Varric would silently approve. She'd say something and it would say "Varric approves (+5)", but he would make no comment. That always cracked me up. But I agree with you on the characters, I love most of the Dragon Age II characters but they had so much more potential than they were given. Especially characters like Isabela, Anders or Fenris, who were too monothematic. It was always about sex, the mages and the Tevinter slave owners. Luckily they changed that again in Dragon Age Inquisition. And yeah, that impression you get from Spanish people tends to be the real one. The general English level is very bad. Like very, very bad. People start learning English at 3, but somehow never get passed the most simple sentences. There are simply so many things that could be done to change that. I mean look at the countries in northern Europe, they speak it so well. Tourists are actually shocked when they have been here for a while and they hear someone who can manage with the English language. It's a pity, because it IS the international language. How else would you and I communicate? I had heard of Montenegro, but not much... I remember studying as one of the little countries in Europe. Though I can guess there are black mountains there! (at least my Spanish helps deduct the Monte negro part). And come on, I'm sure it's not lame. By the way, what language do you speak over there? Pardon my ignorance, but growing up they always made me focus on the western part of Europe and never on the countries on the East. I shame they never taught me more about them :/ Don't worry too much about the comments being too long. I mean, surely people will read our two or three first comments out of interest on Leliana, but as soon as we start talking about other things they will most likely scroll down. And I don't mind the long comments. In fact, isn't this one a bit too long already? Oh gosh. And is there really no private messaging through KZbin? +Nava Sabine Yes. ;_; When I begun playing Inquisition, I was so excited to meet Leliana again. (I always romance her in Origins) But... She was so sad. She had lost her spark and her spirit, and I believe she talks about it at the end of her personal mission. After she left the Warden's side to work as the Left hand of the Divine, she was forced to do a lot of awful things. Assassinations, torture, all that stuff, on behalf of the Divine, all the while fearing, deep down, that she was becoming Marjolaine, the one thing she was always afraid of becoming. After ten years of this, she had to harden herself in order not to break, and when the Divine died, she felt betrayed. She had become what she feared, and now it seemed like it was all for nothing. So she no longer tells her stories. In my headcanon, she returns to her beloved Warden after getting a kick in the butt by the Inquisitor, and the Warden reminds her of who she really is. Gentle, righteous Leliana. Not murderous, cruel Nightingale.

I just finished one of Leliana's sidequests, concerning Justinia and a message from her. Without any major spoilers, I was watching with heavy heart as she went down this downward spiral into darkness, partly due to my actions (choice&consequence, this time, truly), culminating in a final 'illumination' that cemented her descent into the abyss. She was offered what this song is about, and she didn't even consider it, realizing with perfect lethal clarity what she is. The Leliana from the Lothering in DAO was no more. When we returned the Skyhold and she coldly and unfeelingly confirmed this, I went to the tavern for a stiff and this song started playing... One of the most profound moments I've experienced in a game. Proufoundly sad, that is. Thanks for uploading.

Happened to me too. 1st playthrough completely blind without any hints from the internet and I think I managed to do everything wrong concerning Leliana. I was completely ignorant of the fact that you're shaping her hardening throughout the entire game. Normally it's that one decision in their personal quest, yeah? Wrong!!! And then she fell onto the sunburst throne. It's a reign of terror I tell you. My warden wants to kill me.

I haven't finished the game yet but I'm past that quest with Leliana. I managed to draw her away from that dark path and she didn't kill Natalie or what-was-her-name. Leliana was supposed to be hardened but not almost dead inside... Lady Cousland wouldn't approve of my Lady Trevelyan destroying her beloved's heart... But I think it's great that your actions as the protagonist are influencing NPC's.

MiniMeh 55 You managed to get Leliana elected as Divine in your first play-through?....damn....that's some serious luck/skill. Many people have tried to get Leliana elected and instead have usually been stuck with Cassandra(who is a decent choice). I only knew of one person who managed to get Leliana get elected as divine and the funny thing was that he tried to get Cassandra to take the throne. Also he missed Leliana's personal quest, so he got struck with indecisive Leliana instead.

Leliana's story though sad is probably one of the best in the series especially where it stands now. She became what she never wanted to be, she was twisted, contorted by death, betrayal, and corruption that rule the political world. And through tragedy, agony, and death was transformed into The Nightingale. I hope her story doesn't end there and instead is finished with a story of redemption.

Everyone's talking about how sad it is that Leliana went from a carefree optimist to a stern and brooding spymaster. I actually quite like it because it chimes quite well with how events transpired (in my playthroughs) over the series and how my characters have become progressively darker. In DA:O I went with a male human warrior (sword and shield). A typical holier-than-thou, goody-two-shoes and Mary Sue. A too-good-to-be-true character more at home in an old Disney movie than Thedas. He befriended all his companions, romanced Leliana and went out of his way to do the right thing all the time. However, if he had one flaw it was pride/a mistrust of Morrigan and Flemeth and so he refused to go through with the "ritual" (because if the character is already saintly then why not go one step further and make a messianic self-sacrifice?). So, the warden saves the world and in the process Leliana lost the man she loved: not exactly a good start to her maintaining a positive outlook on life. My DA:A Warden-Commander was also a male human sword-and-shield warrior. Not much to say about him. Kind of boring and pragmatic. Killed the Architect because: fuck darkspawn. In DA2 events had a less direct impact on Leliana but we do see her working as the Divine's left hand in one of the DLCs. My Hawke was a mischievous male mage (alliteration, yay!). A scoundrel-with-a-heart-of-gold type character who would usually do the right thing (ideally for pay) but who wasn't above taking money for criminal work. Romanced Isabela, reluctant mage-supporter, killed Anders, blah, blah, blah... (yeah, not exactly a big fan of DA2 - literally the only two good things to come out of that mess were Cassandra and Varric). In DA:I my Inquisitor is a male human two-handed warrior and a mage/elf/dwarf/qunari-hating religious fanatic and tyrant (still not played through the post-ending DLC so I don't know how his story will end). By DA:I Leliana has lost her lover, seen the Chantry (the organisation that her faith is founded on) torn apart by the Mage Rebellion and has also lost her mentor putting her faith (such a key part of her sense of self) under great strain. It's no wonder she's as grim as she is in DA:I (hell, I'd expect her to be *more* brooding). Given all she went through I'd have expected her to also be jaded and conservative on issues like mage freedom and Chantry law too.

what i liked best about this game is when you're looking for grey warden signs off storm coast, and the grey wardens are looking for a rogue warden. They come by a group of fishermen that feed them, and this young kid goes up to them asking to join the wardens and the leader says something along the lines of "I'm not in recruitment so I'm just gonna say no cus you're too young and this job is literally meant for people with no future outside of becoming grey wardens. So if you're only signing up because you're fed up with casting lines all day, this is not the place for you to be." They aren't recruit crazy. It really endeared them to me

Мне не жаль этого персонажа, но я и не ненавижу его. Он в любом случае интересный, написан отлично. Раньше всегда заводила роман с ней, но решила как-то глубже проанализировать всë это, после чего перестала оказывать Лелиане былые знаки внимания. Ее никто не заставлял становиться левой рукой Джустинии. Она сама на это решилась. Ей это нравится.

Ты прав и одновременно не прав. Она действительно не так чиста, как говорит о себе. Более того, мы лично это узнаем( позже она и не скрывает). Но именно поэтому она и обратилась к церкви. It's mostly just the people that played Origins. In DA:O, it seemed that she was always happy and adorable, and just wanted to travel the world and spread her songs and stories. However, in Inquisition, she changed so much that the original players felt for her. I played Inquisition first, so I didn't get it then, but I eventually played DA:O while romancing her, then went back and played DA:I again with the save data, and I just felt like she just lost herself. It was honestly heartbreaking to watch how cold she became, even though she was still getting shit done.

What genre of music would you call this? It inspires like Trance music does, but it obviously isn't Trance. Thanks :) Edit: I NO longer think this sounds like trance music, I'm much more educated and big brained on what's trance music and folk music. Pls ignore this comment I made it when I was 14.

Rei Hinoko Thanks a lot! I found some folk music similar to this such as Nickle Creek(almost thought I was gonna say Nickleback huh?) and Laura Marling, and Milky Chance, three musicians/bands that I absolutely adore currently.

Can't believe the singer is Russian. 99% of the time a Russian speaker would have a heavy accent. The song is beautiful and I'm happy to have been proven that not every Russian singer has terrible pronunciation.
