Developers can use extremely complex algorithms to produce results that *seem* random, but they're all based on logic and patterns. It's the sheer volume of combinations/possibilities involved that gives the *illusion* of randomness, but if you knew the underlying logic (and could compute and analyze extremely large numbers/datasets at god-level speeds), you could accurately predict something like what Spotify on shuffle would play next.
