It's because of the atmosphere.

It freaked me out when I was looking up at the sky at sunset and you could see where the blue spectrum light was fading out due to the sun’s rays hitting at a sharper angle and you realize it is a mere illusion that it is a sky up there. It is all black space with the light of the sun obscuring it! It’s always nighttime!!!The sun is out in the middle of the night!

At 0:07, the reason maybe confusing for ya'll but its because the color of the sky is primarily blue because of the way Earth's atmosphere scatters sunlight. When sunlight reaches the Earth's atmosphere, it is composed of different colors, but shorter blue wavelengths are scattered more than other colors by the gases and particles in the atmosphere, making the sky appear blue to our eyes. In space, there is no atmosphere to scatter light, so the background appears black. I may be wrong so, please if I am, correct me.

The sky is blue because the sun's rays hit the molecules present in the air and for the human eye there appears to be this color

At 0:07, [pedant mode] things are weird. Space is black, because of the Big Bang and that the observable Universe, though very large, is finite. In an infinite, steady-state Universe that had no beginning, there would be a galaxy full of stars in every direction that you looked and there would have been more than enough time for light from the most distant sources to arrive at any observer, so space would be suffused with a diffuse glow, like the Milky Way, but in every direction. Space would be white in such a Universe. In the Universe that we live in, there is a boundary representing all of the Universe where the light has not reached us. Because the Universe is expanding, light from the furthest reaches of the observable Universe are red-shifted out of the visible spectrum. This means that there are locations in our field of view where there are no light sources that we can see, so space, in our universe, is black. Explaining why the sky is blue, which I could do, is hard to do without drawing graphs of scatter spectra and the sensitivity of our eye as a function of wavelength. The short answer is that taking the convolution of the scatter spectra (which peaks at violet) and eye sensitivity (which peaks at yellow) is a narrow spike at blue, but as altitude increases and pressure goes down, the sky gets dimmer and the scatter spectra narrows, which shifts the spike towards violet. Before the sky goes completely dark at high altitude, it can be seen as its true color-- violet! I was taught this in a fourth year university physics course on optics. I memorized it, so that, if I ever became a parent, I could answer why the sky is blue, but none of my children ever asked. [/pedant mode]
