Maxwell came up with an equation that would calculate the speed of light, without specifying a reference frame. Einstein concluded the only way for Maxwell's equation for the speed light to be true was that the speed of light was the same for all observers in all frames of reference. An observer at rest with respect to the Sun and an observer travelling at 0.75 light speed with respect to the Sun would both measure the same speed for sun light.[/pedant mode] At 19:38, it gets worse, there is no year zero. The concept of zero did not exist, as far as the Classical Greek Scholars were concerned, so calling the first hundred years after the birth of Christ the 0th century would have to wait, until the moors were kicked out of Spain and Christian Europeans discovered Hindu-Arabic numerals. However, by this time, year one and the first century were firmly entrenched as historical nomenclature.
