They are civil servants, paid for by local and/or state taxpayers. Incidents like this are why many have a low opinion of police and in some cases (particularly among people colour), a fear of them.

The full proper behavior and edicate expected and learned at such an early age will never be lost. My Grandmother insisted that I learn these essential social skills 75 years ago. She had me setting her formal dinner table for her state political meetings in a manner that would make Emily Post or any British butler proud. I love to see teachers who have the fire and drive to actually teach. Thanks to the restaurant owner and staff for making that vision come true.

Has anyone answered why we need driverless cars or its just a fun gadget?

Because if you get the technology good enough then the cars will actually be safer than mistake making humans. The driverless cars can follow each other much closer too, and all speed up and slow down together, meaning no delay in accelerating or slowing down foo much for no reason. It would be like a train, all carriages travel together in unison, but you can turn off out of that group at any exit. It will free up a lot of traffic congestion because AI will work out where each car should be instead of dumb drivers constantly making mistakes. This wont work with Tesla though as they use only cameras. Other companies use cameras, radar and lasers to detect objects. Thats why Tesla are losing ground in the driverless car industry

The correctional officer situation there’s a reason why I don’t work at the sheriff department in Nueces county Corpus Christi because there things that happen behind close door that doesn’t sit well with me and working at Geo Group Inc in the Robstown/ Nueces county. I know of a couple of people who were beaten to death by corrections officers but there was no video so no charges. Law enforcement should not be able to activate or deactivate cameras. They should be on at all times. Psychopaths have no business in law enforcement period.
