I have several relatives with gun collections and none of their children have ever had unsupervised access to any weapon and those relatives all have conceal carry permits and in fact keep themselves armed at all times. Yes there are resourceful children. I was one once. But I was in my thirties when I learned that Mom kept a gun in the house and had since I was a baby. And she had it accessible for her own defense at all times but kept it out of mine and my siblings hands throughout our childhood. And as for my resourcefulness, I and my siblings had full knowledge of every Christmas present from age 9 onward and had unwrapping and rewrapping down to a science and to the point that we were actually secretly playing with some of our toys weeks before Christmas. But we NEVER even knew Mom had a S&W. And Mom had a reputation for not being able to keep a secret. I only found out when she asked for a ride to the shooting range after her car broke down and she wanted her monthly practice session. Also, after Dad died and all us kids became adults, Mom joined an order of nuns, kept the gun to the end though. If SHE could do it ANYONE could do it.

In Finland people DO NOT STEAL. So nobody controls check out machines and it goes very fast. We also weigh our fruits and vegetables ourselves. In France thou they have check out machines where u have to scan an item and then place it on the other side on the table which checks that it is there. And u can not put one item on top of another, all should touch the table’s surface. Thus u can not just pretend to scan the product - if item is added on the table without scanning it will not continue or if u place one item on top of another it will stop until u do correctly. If u have a coupon then stuff should enter it in the scanner. Kinda little bit fussy and not good if u have a lot of products - they do not fit on the check out table

There are no self checkouts in my town and no one stops shopping in those stores. They could easily go to a neighboring town 6 minutes away for self checkout but they don't. The people from next door come here to shop. And no plastic bags either. We bring our own reusable bags everywhere.

Not all spoiled food smells bad. It depends on the type of bacteria that has formed on or in it. Lots of people get food poisoning every year for that reason.

We use the self-checkout at Walmart, and never have any problem. I do stuff like, if I have 4 items I know are exactly identical, I scan one 4 times. I guess they have a camera watching? Anyway, no problems there. But a local grocery store installed machines that (I guess) check changes in your bag weight after each scan. They are a nightmare, always setting off alarms one way or another. I still shop there very frequently, but after 2 tries I will NEVER use the self-checkout machines there again!

I grew up in the 60's hunting on our 164 acres, took gun safety in boy scouts, and was a sniper in Vietnam during the war. I lived in Michigan back then. My father had several weapons as did I as we hunted all the time. My Dad had the guns in a gun cabinet that was locked. He also had trigger locks on two pistols. After 9 years US Army I left and move to Australia, where they outlawed guns, except where some professions needed one, like farmers and game hunters.
