Before then, the wealthy (who also paid a much higher tax rate) were still rich beyond the dreams of the average American while corporations still made profits just not as obscene as today. I myself had a slightly similar experience in January 2014. Right before I went to bed Sunday night, I received an unexpected phone call that my mom had died unexpectedly in her place. Despite the shock, I felt the need to go to work because if I didn't, the store I worked at would not have been able to operate efficiently the next day; I was the opener. Despite one of the WORST TRAGEDIES OF HIS LIFE, Alem was able to deliver one of the THEE most defining speeches of one of THEE most defining moments of his young life. Alem, if you are reading this, you are STRONGER than you know. As I live for my mom and the many others who have died throughout the 11 years I have been in Los Angeles, live for your dad. Alan's grad speech > that NFL kicker's speech
@dianebannister45914 ай бұрын
I thought the Chief's kicker's college graduation speech was so offensive. And he used the occasion to spout off his political and personal beliefs. Totally inappropriate for the joyous occasion. There was a lot of blowback which he deserved. I just read an article this week whereby the nuns who were associated with that college spoke out and expressed how offensive Harrison's speech was. He stated that the highest calling was to be a "housewife" and mother and that should be women's main pursuit. Oh yeah, that's why the female graduates worked so hard to get an education so that immediately after graduation, they could be looking for a husband so they could be a stay at home housewife. Forget about any career and just getting established in life. The NUNS publicly criticized his speech. What an insult it was to the nuns who don't get married, but give their lives in service to God. They won't become housewives and mothers. I had a cousin who was a nun and she was very happy in her vocation. I think she worked in a nursing home.

Can FEMA depend on isreal for the funding? Maybe Ukraine can help when Americans face disaster
@MariaMartinez-researcher4 ай бұрын
Regarding those things, there is not extra money sent to those countries. The American military budget is the largest in the world, by far. Even if the USA were not sending second hand weapons to Ukraine and new bombs to Israel, that money would still be expended in the military. Your taxes are not going to grow on account of that help, they are already used for new weapons, more effective, year after year. The money value of those weapons will not be destined to help people, because Americans keep voting for politicians who tell them that the military needs all their support, and that not having public healthcare/education/housing/etc. means you are free and don't depend on the government's "handouts." See the problem?

Nothing to be concerned about YET... but of course, that could change. Keep using common sense precautions. I feel guilty that I didn't receive my spring booster; hopefully, I will be OK with masking and handwashing, for the time being. I don't get scam emails, my adblock works. I don't click on any email I don't know who it's from. Especially when I click on to "find all emails from this sender" and that's the only one? SPAM, and never click on "unsubscribe" if you never did. it's a way to take you to their website and click.

Yes. Good advice. Not only that, but if you try to unsub from Conservative emails you never subscribed to, you will end up with more. But your adblock blocks emails? Didn't know that.

Don't believe it! The wildfire survivors in California and Oregon are still waiting for help! The people in Hawaii are still waiting for help! They are for the most homeless now and being treated like trash! Nowhere to go! Don't wait for help from our government!

I also was hit by tornado in florida, still haven't received any help, probably won't ever recieve anything? Its so hard, next to impossible to get any kind of assistance. Iv been a U.S. citizen, taxpayer, my entire life, will continue to pay taxes until they bury me, so yes I feel betrayed. They say you get what you put in but that's not true. People come here, don't even speak our language and have it better off than a tax paying citizen? Sounds like a broke record I know but its real.

Buildings made with cement and steel rod laced pillar construction deep into foundations too.. can resist these tornados far better than wood and nail housng that most build in these prone states.. Underground housing also has been nature's way to survive terrible storms.

The whole email scam thing baffles me because this is what happens when a whole generation doesn't have critical thinking skills. My parents' generation is the most gullable.

US politicians are falling apart because a younger generation of Americans don’t watch heavily-bias media, won’t blindly support Israel, actually listen to what historians & experts say on the issue, and believe that Palestinians are also human beings. That’s their real problem.

Alem Hadzic….first of all “CONGRATULATIONS🎉🎉” on 👨🎓 graduating! Thank-You for your INCREDIBLE BRAVERY in delivering a soulful speech and INSPIRING speech. I have two grown young men who graduated years ago and your story has resonated within the very depths of my soul. I have two autoimmune diseases and take chemo every week. With this being said…you have given me NEW INSPIRATION and STRENGTH to keep fighting. I cannot give you ENOUGH “MAHALO’S”(Thank-You in Hawaiian) for your speech. Your dad is a “PHENOMENAL MAN” you know how I know this? I know this because he RAISED an AMAZING young man as yourself! KEEP working hard and carry your precious father with you on all your NEW JOURNEYS in this BEAUTIFUL life!🤙🏼🌺
