Interesting how people “think” the economy was so bad but they can travel at record paces, shop for the holidays, and go out to movies in record numbers, yet they voted against what made the economy better for an unknown and tariffs that could tank the economy again like it was 4 yrs ago.
@rockabye_baby1872 күн бұрын
right? this is how the media does around this time. they always try to softly encourage us to go out and that there's going to be all this spending...no. that's what businesses WANT us to do. i didn't spend big for thanksgiving i won't do it for xmas either. price gouging is out of control and they want us to buy into that as well this coming holiday.
@oldtimer48882 күн бұрын
COVID tanked the economy four years ago, not the president. Also, consumer debt is at an all time high right now, if blaming the sitting president for everything is what you want.
@madelinesolomon2 күн бұрын
Agreed, I'm thinking the same thing ... maybe we have an entitlement problem rather than economic crisis?
@atlnla41122 күн бұрын
@ that’s the problem. The media narrates stories. They talked about how people “felt” but didn’t show them comparatively that things had improved better than any country after Covid. And how big corporations and businesses owner jacked up prices taking advantage of people that were once in need, got checks from a democratic congress. I don’t belong to any party but it’s important to tell the truth and give good, correct information.
@WarHawk-2 күн бұрын
@@rockabye_baby187 - The problem with your statement that this is what the media does to 'encourage' us to go out but what they are reporting on is not something that is GOING to happen (boosted with their 'encouragement') but rather something that has ALREADY happened that they are just reporting on during or AFTER the fact. So I have to agree with others that if the economy is so bad because of 'Bidenomics' (according to Republicans) then how come sales are in the Trillions and setting record highs for the numbers of shoppers and movie attendance, something that would not happen if the economy was so bad. The fact is that you have been conned by President elect Trump and his MAGA supporters into believing our economy is much worse than it actually was in order to get your vote.

Today, I was listening to NBC News, specifically this evening, on Black Friday. They briefly mentioned a news story about bad eggs and cucumbers in some part of Alabama, but the coverage was extremely brief-just a few seconds-and then they moved on. I found this frustrating because this is an important issue, potentially involving health and safety, yet it was treated as if it didn’t matter. This isn’t the first time I’ve noticed this. A couple of weeks ago, there was another significant story that they barely covered. Instead, they often focus on irrelevant topics, like movies or entertainment, which makes it feel like they’re prioritizing profits or distractions over important information. It seems like they care more about companies like Costco making money than about addressing real issues. NBC needs to do better. If they continue this way, people will lose trust in their reporting. This isn’t how news should be handled.
@WarHawk-2 күн бұрын
Why do you think that less and less coverage is being given to possibly life-threatening events like e-coli or listeria contamination? President elect Trump has already picked the head of Agencies like the Department of health who oversea testing facilities like the CDC, and the person he picked does not believe in things like fluoride to help prevent cavities in kids, or in vaccines to prevent the spread of disease. I suspect that the testing of our Nations food supply will also be reduced under his watch, or curtailed altogether - but if you never hear about people dying, then it won't be an issue . . . or a headache for those in charge.
@alisonkutchma17632 күн бұрын
This is why I rarely watch any 'network' news anymore. Each time I am left with that frustration as to the lack of depth to their stories which seem to me to be more like click bait than information. Like the prairie strip story, they did not explain how the flowers retain the runoff. They shared minimal data too just 90% they say but what is the volume and how did they measure it?
@joanne47582 күн бұрын
@@alisonkutchma1763 I was complaining about the same issue in New Zealand. It's all sensationalized - you have to go and search the story for the full facts. Hope you are safe / warm and enjoying your holiday. Regards.

@WarHawk-Күн бұрын
The upcoming Administration has appointed someone that does not believe in things like fluoride, vaccinations, or testing foods for dangers. Being so, illnesses and deaths or going to go up, but if those increases are not reported on then that means less of a chance of push-back by the populous. Sort of like 'if we hide the bodies, no one will notice a problem'.
