As a 30 year letter carrier I’ve re-taped many of packages that aren’t sealed correctly or have become unsealed during handling. Most carriers do this before delivering the parcel no matter whose fault. I’m surprised that didn’t happen.

This video reminds me of some of the horror stories I used to read when I was an Amazon seller forever ago (8 years). Whether it was the lady who needed a round tablecloth and "accidentally" ordered a square one to the people wanting to return items long since out of return period (including worn out sneakers) it made me chuckle and just shake my head at times. The worst part is so many sellers on those forums had the "refund and move on" mentality which just enables people like that to keep abusing returning stuff outside of the return period and who make "mistakes" regularly and makes them expect that everyone will do the same for them.

The ultimate protection! Never underestimate the power of a good rubber band. It is not the easy money that people think it is selling on eBay. Putting up with things like this is part of the game. Hassle, aggravation, paying for other peoples mistakes (like not reading things for example.), buyer is trying to scam you the seller, etc., etc., these are some of the things that make the easy money not so easy reselling. I appreciate you doing this. This video is a great example of the dark side of selling on eBay. Folks make mistakes all the time, you should not have to pay (literally pay with money out of your pocket.) for other people's mistakes when they are responsible to pay for them themselves. Good luck franchise kicks. We all know that you got lucky this time, the scams and ignorant people out there can definitely cost you more time, money, energy than is necessary for a single cell that you could be utilizing by listing more items or other more productive necessary steps in the process of selling on eBay. What is sad is that in over my 20 years of reselling experience, I learned you have to dumb down item descriptions to a 1st grade reading level for a lot of customers. It's sad but has to be done in order not to lose money as a seller.

I really think many don’t read the descriptions. Now i get multiples of adds between the photo and scrolling down to the details. Even I, as a long time experienced eBay seller and buyer, feel that I sometimes need to search for the description when on a phone. Especially when there is little written. I really don’t like this pushed advertising when looking at a listing. With online sales, people want fast and little effort. eBay itself is adding extra effort to read those descriptions making poor buyers that much worse

I sold a Seiko watch. I bought it new at a Seiko store. I put it on EBay for half off after a few days, I didn’t like it but it was to late to return. The buyer decided to go to Facebook and ask those experts to determine by pictures if it was real or not. I’ve sold over 500 watches so many defended me. The guy tried to open a claim before I even mailed it claiming the watch was fake. I sent Ebay my receipt. Within minutes they closed the case in my favor. I shipped the watch. The buyer never tried to return it or left me any feedback

If you accept their terms a person can return any item within 6 months for a full refund. I chose not to take returns. Half of what I sell is in the package, once removed the price drops around 10-60%.

@CLINT ... no one is taking back Mics, Headphones or Mice / Mouse Pads because of COVID-19. There are serious health issues and concerns, hygienic, etc. Best Buy and Microcenter does not accept returns on these items. You literally can sweat ounces of perspiration into headphones over a 24 - 48 hour period if your an all day and all night gamer which, a lot of people are. If she wore these and is / was infected, cold, flu, etc. ... You might want to re-consider your return policy on these items. I was an eBay Power Seller for 2 years back in 2002 and 2004 and partly into 2005. I was actually scammed from a guying based on the US Nimitz who convinced me to ship a very expensive computer to his Girlfriends apartment. I got a charge back out of my Paypal account for nearly $2800 dollars back in 2003. I called his commanding officer who asked me to forward all of his correspondence to him and that he was seriously look into it. 2 days later I got a call, an apology and within days of that a reversal on the charge back. Very scary week hoping to get my money. There are a ton of scammers on eBay and with the fees being so high for the high-end stuff I sell, I can no longer use eBay. But it's cool looking at a 20 year old eBay account with perfect feed-back lol.

I started selling cards on ebay since me and my son collect them it was kind of necessary to offset costs. I have lost money and items ,and crazy nuttbag buyers gimme bad fedback when i just give them the money back and tell them keep the item . i was really intent on gettin my feedback score up. One person I didnt see the package that was delivered what does it look like ill go down where i get my mail and look for it..WTF lol. Another person said the card i sent got damaged by somebody who came over to there house because they sat it on table and it got damaged after it was delivered i nthere house days later. I got bad feedback and it was a fiasco they called me a hacker. It was a $3 card by the way. Other buyers Ive bought from send me damaged goods then when i return pull a insurance scam to get value out of there already damaged items they photo shopped pics. Ive only sold on ebay for 4 months and bought stuff on there 1 year. Its alot of non sense bs crazy people on both ends alot of head aches and stress

The other option was to pack and ship the contents in our boxes and bubble wrapped and shipping packages.when FedEx purchased Kinkos they wanted to encourage the pack and ship. The post office at least mine would’ve taped up the box. The person likely just wrote a note on it thinking they would tape it vs standing in line and asking the clerk to tape the box for them. They will add tape free of charge at my station here in Dallas, but it’s best to stand in line and ask to make sure they do it. Idk that she’s a nightmare customer. There are definitely worse. She might be upset about the return shipping but tbh that’s why I buy items that I might return on Amazon or Walmart.com. Thankfully right now they still offer free returns.

Once I never received item so was resent & I asked to sign for it so had to that package was opened but had a sweet & Nice delivery person who waited to be sure Everything was in package. That is nothing, a few years ago I sold a thick 22K Sold Gold Mens Necklaces on Ebay and the buyer tried to return it saying it was fake, despite there being the 22k makers mark, I also had it appraised as well. I sent a copy of the appraisal to the buyer, they ignored it and sent the necklace back anyways. And when I got it, it turns out the buyer destroyed the clasps when 'testing' the necklace. He argued that because the clasp was not 22k the whole thing wasn't 22k, even though I put in the description that the clasp was replace with a plated clasp. Argued this whole thing for almost a month before Ebay stepped in with the Damaged Return Policy, which for those who don't know it states, that buyers can not return item that they themself have damage in anyway, and in cases of Jewelry the item must be appraised by a Professional Jeweler to show fraud. So be careful buying or selling jewellery on Ebay.

i think those platforms listed are the ones that the item is tested to work with. the fact that xbox is not listed means either it has not been tested to work with xbox or it will not work with xbox. looks like a buyer remorse though the item seem to be intact all the parts are there nothing missing so it may be resellable as open box and seller refurbished. normally shipping is one way but sometimes the store may do a pre paid shipping label if it is defective. case in point i bought a hard drive dock from owc and the unit was dead on arrival it would not power up or even spin up the drives so i suspect bad power supply and owc was very kind to send me pre paid shipping label for return. shipping may be free on the purchase as it is built into the cost of the item but the return shipping will cost every time unless the dealer is nice about it due to defect or something.

I'm pretty lucky I don't get scammed much on ebay. However several years ago my cousin had a friend who had a video store that went bust. She helped her liquidate the inventory. She sold me all the posters for nearly nothing. I flipped a ton on ebay I had probably 10% who would take the poster out of the mailer and put some random shit in it then trash it and say it was crushed in the mail. I could tell by the colors on the bits of poster sticking through. Now when I have posters I send them in tubes strong enough to be ran over by a car.

Not sure the reason for the public shamming. The package got returned via ebay return policy. For a youtuber that relies on not only views of you potential buyers but of buyers in general. I dont understand the high horse "we're sellers" hey look how this person didnt tape their box (and retuned the item in perfect intact condition I might add) reasoning. Uncalled for...

That is why I don't offer returns because can't trust some.Because it was her fault for NOT reading all the info on the product. And some usps don't have the tape. My town was rude and said they don't supply it. So possible they didn't for some reason.

8:04 Based on the wording of the note, I think we should be blaming the post office TOO. I think that note was for the USPS worker. I think there was a line at the post office or something and the person just dropped the box office OR they had it picked up at home. They expected usps to tape the box for them. Thats where they get the blame. But usps, seeing a box held closed by rubber bands, should have taped the box! This IS insane, but confused on where you guys were scammed this time around…maybe im not that far into the video yet 🤔 LOL LITERALLY ONE SECOND LATER…you came to same conclusion as me 😂

I hear and sympathize with you, it reminds me of about a year ago I purchased a new T shirt off of eBay, and it was shipped in a Burger King sack, the same sack you get while going through the drive thru with the food inside. The shirt was in the paper sack with some scotch on it, I was blown away. Luckily with my 600+ sales on eBay I have only had 2 returns in total, but every time I sell something in the back of my mind I worry about stuff like this. Nice vid Clint have a good one
