Watching this video I really felt for you. First the slight sadness that the GB series, which I really enjoyed, had come to an end, but still feeling very excited of All the adventures that would come next And then seeing you two going from bad to worst and it then getting even worse than worst. Poor you. You have all my sympathy

Thank you for your quick reply. last night I did some research and found out how you managed to register and insure your van in France albeit not having a residence there. I am a Maltese citizen myself and wanted to get my car insured to go to Europe whenever I felt like it. Just because I had asked that question to the insurance company, they refused to reniew my car insurance. Would you beleive that??? They made me make a declaration saying that I do not intend to drive my car outside of Malta to renew the car insurance! Actually I am hooked on your vlogs. If you allow me to give you a little suggestion... Is it possible to put a number on each video so they can be easily followed consecutively? Keep it Up the good work! Hey Noel thanks so much glad you're enjoying the videos - you're right definitely difficult to do it in Malta. We explored the option of doing it in Malta and UK but for us France turned out to be the best option. I'll explain a bit more in this week's vlog which we're filming tomorrow :)

My wife and I regularly travel for five to six weeks in our Malta registered car and have never had problems with insurance. Before each trip i go to my insurance company and get a so-called green card from them (They were green once upon a time, now white!). I just need to specify the countries I plan to drive through and that's it. It's normally free for the first 29 days, but you pay a small charge for going over that.

@@TerenceMirabelli Thankyou for your response. I had asked my car insurance to be able to leave Malta with my car for an unlimited ammount of days as I was thinking of buying a property abroad. When I went to renue my insurance about 3 months later they would not renew it.. their agent told me that it was allowed to leave Malta with the car for max 4 weeks in a year and for not more than 2 weeks at a time and i had to inform them before leaving.

That's odd, as we travel for more than six weeks in our car and we've never had our insurance company tell us what to do, or whether there's a time limit etc. It may be your insurance company that imposes these rules. May be worth looking into - I use the company headquartered next to the old football stadium in Gzira! @@ambeko4690

Just Got home from our 1 month trip around Europe, watching this is making us want to go back!! Great video- the aires are amazing compared to what we have in the UK. Such a shame about the vehicle issues... hopefully all will be resolved and no more expenses! :)

Bonjour C2H! Ces non magnifique :( So, you see what happens when you leave the UK?? - we may be rubbish at providing free facilities for travellers, but you can spend months here with no vehicle issues! (I'm gonna rename Tandy 'Boris' (Just doesn't like entering Europe) Doh. Charlene's dentistry was cheap at least! .... even my NHS Dentist is getting quite expensive! Heinz Beans will always solve a lack of power issue!! I hope all went well in Austria & that you made it in time for your assignment? Hey Kev thanks for your comment. It seems we have a lot of bad luck in France true although we do love it a lot at the same time 😃 Yes all good although it was such a complicated time going to so many mechanics. In next week's video here in Austria I'll do a bit of an update on the van !!

Yes so many aires eveywhere just try to stick to the ones in the villages not on the motorways as they can be a bit dodgy in certain areas of the country !
