Maurice was probably one of the victims of Norbert whose death was falsely attributed to a mountain climbing accident and he came back to take his revenge on Norbert. Probably Norbert did not recognise him

@@dasgupta058Nah. In the stories it says the killings started in 1999. If Maurice was a victim from the late 90's or very early 2000's, Norbert _may_ have forgot about him, but I don't believe that was the case when when Maurice died just 6 months prior.

@@angelgray8899 Most of the story is based on SCP-6357. In that article, The Assimilator can turn into whatever it eats. So when it was roaming the forest and killing livestock, it must have come across Maurice’s body (I believe Maurice actually died in a mountain climbing accident) and ate him, thus taking his appearance. Norbert was killing since 1999, but when 6357 began killing livestock there, he played into the urban legend and thus put blame on the Entity, which didn’t kill anyone imo. 6357 found out and began hunting the actual culprit. Just my theory.
