Fun fact: Seigi got the second rarest encounter in the entire game. While the Ghost girl normally only appears on the hardest 3 moons, there is a 0.4% chance of her appearing on Experimentation and an even lower chance on Assurance.

@serventium4049 yep. There is an extremely small chance when you just start out a new run, that the Ghost girl can be on Experimentation or Assurance. And the chance of her appearing is extremely low, on top of the hidden sanity mechanic not yet kicking in.

A Bit of a spoiler on how shrimp works if anyone wants to know. It will follow players around once it has spotted them, it will eventually start to get hungry and try to eat the player, you can prevent this by feeding it scrap.

to answer dougs question personally I think that the bracken is the scariest it may not be the most powerful monster but just the fact that it appears basically out of nowhere every time and unlike the coil head that has a very easy and predictable way to stop it The bracken is not the same

especially cus I have VSS (visual snow syndrome) and the static I see makes night vision worse, and can make any small dots cover or move so I cant tell if bracken is there or if I am looking at it besides when its bright near me (i didn't have a flashlight when doing multiplayer and first encountering the bracken) i just play with no monsters on cus my vision is not good with screens especially

Spore lizards are frightening if you don't know what they do, imagine first playing the game and that being the first thing you encounter, since its a horror game and it has a huge mouth, you think it will attack you because of the jumpscare it causes. They redeem a certain stress first encounter then don't become a problem once finding out. Also they are scary because the smoke makes it so you can't see anything.

Jester, specifically when it either blocks a door or when your too deep to escape, running around with no clue of where to go as you hear the music get faster, knowing you can't survive this encounter then... silence... and the footsteps slowly getting faster and soon you will be in it's presence, it's cold, terrifying embrace. You know your too far deep to be found and you know you will not be spared, and you will not be saved

To answer Doug’s question; I personally think that the forest keepers are the scariest. You’re walking back to the ship when it’s dark and you suddenly hear heavy footsteps coming your way. Once they see you there’s no stopping them until they swallow you whole.

Giant is scariest for me simply because as it is right now, once it chases you, you're basically done for. Most other monsters have some work around, but Giant workarounds either require an inventory space for a grenade which MAY save you, or rely on a teammate who may not be paying attention.

Doug’s qotd: design wise, I think it’s the jester. That huge skull held up by a tall column of meat popping out of a box is just so awful, not even mentioning the humanoid legs and hand sticking out of the box. In game though, taking in mechanics as well, coil head, hands down. I cannot function if 2 or more start following me. After being traumatized by the endos in security breach, anything running on weeping angel movement turns me into the biggest baby.
