For me the ending scene from Le Notti di Cabiria is powerful and inspiring. In the midst of despair having lost everything, she recognizes that beauty still surrounds her, and life goes on. The youthful characters dancing in a carefree manner and the woman who says, "Bona sera", are for me symbols of the muses or spirits sent to help her at her lowest point to remind her that there are still beautiful things in life, and she will find her way out of the woods. She is a survivor, and she can find the courage to laugh through her tears is so powerful. She will figure out a way to survive and she will do so without being morose or bitter. Her childlike quality is what allows her to be flexible and tenacious.
